So many miserable sods in this thread.

I have wanted Ken sacked for a long time because I didn't believe he could get them to win a grand final. And there's probably still a large chunk of me that still believes it. However, they're one win away from a grand final for crying out loud.

Get your pitchforks out if they lose on Friday night. Otherwise, for the time being, it's time to be a Happy Clapper 😂
I would enjoy it soooooo much more if I knew he'll be elsewhere in 2025 🤞

The grass isn't always green on the other side. People wanted Choco sacked. It happened. Port went through turmoil as a club during the time. Funny enough, along came Ken and brought the club back and almost into a GF not long into it. As I've said before, yes, times up. I'd think Ken would be better suited in a role to continue supporting players etc at Port but not head coach.

Question we all should ask again, after my example above, is, when Ken goes, will the next coach do better? And if so, how fast? Or will people be moaning after a few years of new coach still getting sorted.

Changing the coach has no guarantees but when we do, it gives us an opportunity to win a flag because Ken hasn't delivered it thus far. If the next coach fails after a few years, get another, but not wait for a decade ... got to put the club first. We don't have these talented mids forever to be wasting them.

If Ken gets the club a flag this year, great, but if he has a poor season again, he goes.

I need the security blanket of believing he'll been gone if we lose, so the result becomes a win / win. Lie to me if you need to, he's gone if we lose, right?

I get that, but some people in here want to know: Will he still get sacked if we lose Friday?

I’m torn on the Hinkley stuff. He obviously let his emotions get the better of him but…

That little squib from Hawthorn continuously gets away with shithousery behind the security of his keyboard and screen. Ken tells him how it is to his face and he’s the bad guy?

It’s exactly what’s wrong with society. This younger generation live their lives through an alternate reality online then when s*** gets real in real life they don’t know where to look.

Bad timing from Ken, whatever, but it was a f*** around find out moment for Ginni
Oh well - he's got 6 months to contemplate the error of his ways :).

Attention Donna Hinkley, your son has been arrested.

Attention Donna Hinkley, we have also arrested your older, balder, fatter son.

No other coach in AFL history has ever stepped to a lesser role and let someone else take charge. It will not happen.

Hinkley at Gold Coast and St Kilda was a snake to the other coaches and headcoach, he used to undermine them to get what he wanted.

Imagine being the new coach and having Hinkley still around.

I legit got it fried into my brain of the pre-match promo vid vs Hawthorn when a commentator yells out,

"YA CAN'T KILL KENNY!!"

I thought for sure yesterday was the day it finished. Despite all the umpiring and potential to choke that game away, he survived again.

I'm only going to post this once because I'll have nothing to add between now and Friday night.

Irrespective of what they're saying in the media, there are people at Port who strongly believe West Coast are waiting for Port's season to end to have the conversation with Ken. If West Coast want him and Ken wants to leave, I fully expect Port to facilitate a deal.

Things are more blurry than they were a few weeks ago. A big loss in the prelim would end it for sure. A close loss makes it interesting - there would still be people who want to get rid of Ken but short of me speaking to every person on the footy committee I'm not sure how the numbers would unfold exactly. But the argument to get rid of him at that point would be it is a 4th consecutive preliminary final failure which remains compelling.

There's also the CD factor - Collingwood are throwing the kitchen sink at him. If he goes, that throws another spanner in the works.

CDs comments on 5AA were pretty telling. Under reported on this board (unless I missed it). Basically acknowledging that the club will need to make a decision to move on from the current members of the football department at some point. Reading between the lines, I’d say Davies et al know they’ve had a decent crack. Or he might just be speaking for himself.

I'll be completely honest, i love the soap opera that is this whole situation. I'm kind of at a point where, the most absurd and ridiculous thing that could possibly happen, i want that to happen.

Not saying Port didn't deserve the win. Just wondering out loud what today might have looked like had that kick sailed through the big sticks.

My best guest, any or all of the following:
1. Sack Hinkley 13 started
2. Media love in for Hawks
3. Continuation of usual "expert opinions" Ports don't have the cattle, without Kenny club will fold, tarps etc.
4. Return to 2017, Kenny wants 4 years or he's off
5. Somehow it was all the fans fault and we never appreciated the genius that was Kenny.
