on a football podcast they very briefly spoke of Erik Ten Hag and how much he sucks, and one of them was like "should he walk? in terms of protecting his integrity?" and the other was very simply like "nah, look how much he's being paid, would be a disservice to your family". it's that simple really - if any of us were coaching a team we hated for a decade and they were stupid enough to keep paying us, we couldn't turn that down, it would be fiscally irresponsible. that is why David Koch must be slaughtered.

100%. There isn't another organisation on earth that would pay our Kenny even a quarter of his current salary.

Can't blame the ****er for taking the coin.

Ken Hinkley should feel like stepping down because he should be under immense public pressure from the media. It should be absolutely savage, like it is for Ten Hag.

But here there's basically nothing, so he can just ignore the pressure and keep getting paid.

You can't even compare the two in terms of performance anyway. If Ten Hag accomplished the equivalent of how Ken has gotten the team to perform during the season in the league no one would even bat an eye lid.

The pressure for Ken should be there due to an inability to perform in finals which has been the case over the last 4 years in particular, in conjunction with holding the record for longest tenured senior coach in the one stint as coach without ever making the grand final (letting alone actually winning one).

They basically have the opposite problem. Ten Hag can't compete in the league consistently but won a cup, Hinkley coaches a good quality regular season team but can't win knockout games.

The problem we keep having is that the media are so poor at their jobs that we're in a cycle of being talked down because we can't win finals, then the media acting surprised when we win regular season games and calling Ken a genius, to changing their minds again when we bomb out in finals.

The 2023 contract extension should have already seen several people fall on their swords.

At least Man Utd can look at Ten Haag and can say he has got titles as Ajax. Meanwhile at Port.......we wait.

He should have been sacked many many times, but when he said finals are scary, that was a disgrace for a Port coach to say, and it should have lead to instant dismissal and he should have had his coaching accreditation torn up by the AFL.
The wisdom of Kenny™;

"Playing finals is just a sugar hit"
"Playing finals is overrated"
"Playing finals is scary"

How this loser survives at a club that "Exists to win premierships" is a credit to David Koch and his spineless board.

I think there are 2 reasons for this statement. Partly I think he was reflecting the players feelings. This is consistent with the McQuire leaked info (thru traitor Cardone) about the players concerns of playing at home during this year's finals. Let's face it virtually everytime there is expectation regarding an important home game they get flogged (Hawks final the exception).

Hinkley is also scared of finals because there's extra scrutiny, nowhere to hide & reason 1. He & his enablers are responsible for reason one through the weak culture they have built over a long period. This has led to supporters at home games getting very frustrated & vocalising this on occasions. That's also on them for being so weak & sticking with a coaching set up that has continually failed when it's important.

Okay, so seeing nothing has come of Hinkley leaving, I would assume he's staying on and looking for an extension later in the year irregardless of another disappointing finals series.

The club has done it's player exits and coaching reviews, had the best and fairest now just disappear into the summer until next year.

No explanation to supporters for another failed final series, oh wait, we played in 3 finals, we finished second, finals is a pass mark, there are many clubs that would like to be in our position.

This is really sticking to the supporters, such a weak club with the standards of South Adelaide. Now we have Boak going around again, Rory Atkins and very little AFL standard depth accompanied be the worst finals coach in AFL history, this has to be a joke right.

It's the same story every time.

Ken will get extended if we are well into the 8.
Yeah, whilst the existing fools are in charge, what would be different? Tredrea is one lone voice. Not extending Ken the next time he's in the 8 and doing well, would immediately raise the question of why wasn't that done previously? Are they going to admit they should have waited? Koch has already said no regrets about last time. Egos will ensure that Ken just keeps going until Koch is gone or he has a serious health issue forcing him away. Unless people do actually stop paying the club to gaslight them.

i think for the long term benefit of the club although it will hurt we need to lose early games have an embarrising loss or 2 then maybe after about 7 or 8 rounds koch, the board and ken will see it themselves that there is no grand final again and ken parts ways with the club. if we are thereabouts and enter finals that will be a bad result we will only be wasting time.
Hope we get a tough draw,
