Certified Legendary Thread Sack Hinkley 13 - Another Crack At This

If the PAFC had any guts and showed any value in it's supporters and sponsors, it would come out and say what the pass mark is before the season, not at the end of the season when they can shift the goal posts to suit their own narrative.

This is how they get around being held accountable, it's always after the fact with these losers.

Come on David Koch, tell us what the pass mark is for Hinkley in season 2025, tell us now.
They did a while ago. 3 premierships in 5 years or something.

That's when the club thought it was Richmond and Hinkley was the next Hardwick.

Hardwick has more coaching ability in his big toe than Hinkley has in his whole body. Richmond also has a board that cares about it's members and winning flags.

The difference between Port and Richmond in this instance is that Richmond outlined their goal of winning flags when they were shit, and Port outlined their plan of winning an AFL premiership following a season that they narrowly missed a Grand Final.

It took absolutely no guts for Richardson to make that call, and you can tell he thought they were a kick away from a GF so a premiership would just materialise naturally. Absolute visionless cowards running the show.

It is what it is ... But it is a win-win.
1] If the goose takes to the Grand Final - Good!
2] If we have another mediocre year, the Goose will be cooked! - Good!

Rory Atkins premiership player. imagine him driving around west lakes doing laps in his MG ZST around Philips street and Charles street premiership cup in hand yelling abuse to anyone Crows supporters he sees lol.

I suspect that Richardson had read The Secret and believed that if you think hard enough about something it will materialise. Clearly the secret to three flags in five years is to think harderey longerey.

I read an article after my beloved Fiorentina demolished Roma 5-1 this morning, we've taken on a new manager who initially struggled but has since been on a real vein of good form. Check what he said after he saw his usual style of coaching wasn't working after two months:

After a decade, our coach and administration are convinced that movement in any direction is progress - and this is why "Port Adelaide" will never be Port Adelaide ever again.
I’m a Fiorentina fan from way back too!

Forza Firenze!

The best kit and the best player in the 90’s!

He’s also supposedly a Welsh speaker (like many from Patagonia).

I support Argentina in the world cups too!

Another year of is there a succession plan, Ken needs an answer by august etc. in the media is a nauseating soul crushing thought.
It's so amateur..

If you weren't going to sack him this year you might as well give him another extension...
Embarrassing again going into another year with the loser out of contract and the cowards unable to press the button with decision paralysis hoping Whatley , Cornes et all come to the rescue and dial up the protection racket..

One of the biggest losers out of all this is Josh Carr waiting this out. Just leave mate. Run..

The pass mark for a widdle piss battler club is just being in the competition. It isn't the SANFL you know.

If you beat da fruit tingles then it's
Great Success Win GIF

Backs up what Chewy said ... Missed getting sacked by ONE game! So enters 2025 on the No1 position of "Coaches In The Hotseat!"

1. Ken Hinkley (Port Adelaide)

It’s almost indisputable that the Power’s coach of 12 years is the most under pressure heading into 2025; despite taking his side to yet another preliminary final. So much so in fact, that he was arguably one semi-final loss away from him and the club parting ways this September. Hinkley himself understands the pressure that has come with being successful but not yet good enough to win it all. Port Adelaide continues to be in and around the final four each season, but now not even that looks good enough for Hinkley to stick around at Alberton beyond next year. Put simply, it looks to be grand final or bust for the 58-year-old, who comes out of contract in just under 12 months’ time.

And if Koch wasn't at the helm, I'd believe every word of this.

Yep - it's why they should have cut the cord this season.

At the very least they should make the succession plan public knowledge with a firm end date. And if they did it before the AGM they won't have as many angry people to answer to at that event either. Would be a convenient way for the decision makers to largely escape accountability.

The problem with the inertia this club operates with is they create these situations, honesty and clarification on a succession plan would be better than not, however the possibility of a treading water season with mixed results while everyone suffers through old mate eeking out his contract to the bitter end is absurd business.

I think the idea of a treading water season applies regardless of whether or not a succession plan is publicly announced. But announcing it publicly gives the fans hope for the future rather than lamenting another year of the same.

In the new season it won't take long for the media to be pushing for a Hinkley extension. It will go something like, Ken deserves to know his future, he deserves a contract extension, it must be difficult coaching under those circumstances.

It will all sound so familiar to us frustrated supporters but believe me, if the club don't announce a succession plan, Hinkley's manager will be pulling all stops to wrangle an extension, before finals if we qualify.

It's not a way to treat your supporters it's basically saying meh you can sit through another bland 12 months because we haven't got the balls to rip off the bandaid.

Koch be like: Band-Aid?

Ken brings stability. We want a 20 year coach.

Preliminary finals = Grand Finals.

Look at me, I’m just bald headed w***er who too spineless to sack Hinkley.

So I’ll pass on the buck to a bunch of bloke who know footy. So I don’t have to take accountability.

Fml

surely there is no chance for anything to actually happen at the AGM? wouldn't they just pre-approve a couple of lite questions from some stooges and use that to pretend they "opened the floor to the members"? stopping the event from happening would really be something
