The players are totally committed to Ken so everything is rainbows and unicorns.
Don't forget that we are bringing in slightly less young talent than our rivals whilst losing one of our best players, that's a positive right? The players are totally committed to Ken so everything is rainbows and unicorns.
Is he trying to convince you or himself?
I’m pretty comfortable there will be no succession plan unless Hinkley has a premiership in his pocket.Yep - it's why they should have cut the cord this season.
At the very least they should make the succession plan public knowledge with a firm end date. And if they did it before the AGM they won't have as many angry people to answer to at that event either. Would be a convenient way for the decision makers to largely escape accountability.
Except if the wheels fall off it won’t be a succession planThere is no way they are going to announce anything remotely to do with a succession plan with actual details. The only way is if the wheels fall off badly and even then it's not a fait accompli.
It will as it has always been, smoke and mirrors and probably another Hinkley contract 'based' on a missed goal or an errant handpass or a lucky bounce.
It's going to be a very long drawn out year because no one thinks Hinkley can get us to the Granny let alone win one. Not even the happy clappers.
Chewy and sundry will be doing their utmost to show how the new players or the new gameplan will hold up in finals. That will be the narrative. That will bring false hope to the fans. Things look the same but really we can do it this year.
The CEO says our list is "far from broken" despite not being up to the standard required to make a Grand Final in the opinion of our GM of Football.Don't forget that we are bringing in slightly less young talent than our rivals whilst losing one of our best players, that's a positive right?
"Yes, of course we haven't been able to make a Grand Final". Yes. Of course.
But I agree that the list is far from broken - it's the stupid, never changing game plan that stinks, and needs urgent repair. Get rid of the muppet in charge of that game plan, and bring in someone who allows the players to play properly, and I reckon they can achieve anything. The CEO says our list is "far from broken" despite not being up to the standard required to make a Grand Final in the opinion of our GM of Football.
A club that "exists to win premierships" admitting that its list is not up to the standard required to make a Grand Final implies that the list is in effect quite broken and in need or urgent repair.
Richardson, Davies and Koch in their desperate attempts to deflect any blame for our lack of success from Hinkley repeatedly shoot themselves in the foot.
I’m pretty comfortable there will be no succession plan unless Hinkley has a premiership in his pocket.
Therefore there’ll be no succession plan.
Chewy, its almost unheard of for a coach to go deep into the final year of his contract without either getting an extension, or getting sacked! Based on historic precedents, Hinkley is entering 2025 on extremely shaky ground. Then as the season progresses, the pressure is going to mount exponentially, one way or other!I think the idea of a treading water season applies regardless of whether or not a succession plan is publicly announced. But announcing it publicly gives the fans hope for the future rather than lamenting another year of the same.
