So according to Caroline Willson on Footy Classified Kens contract clause is that he must make finals atleast once over the three years his contract was extended from the end of 2017.. so there's no doubt ken will be here next year and most likely sacked midway through the year like we all thought.

Clearly the club's still in huge financial strife considering we can barely pay close to 100% of our salary cap so no matter what happens we won't be sackings him next week unfortunately.

So our 150th year will be distinguished by a mid-season coach sacking. Would surely be better to do it now.

There's no doubt ken will go on his own terms.. there's absolutely no way he will walk. He's the most stubborn human in football.

He is stubborn your right but like caro said the pressure on him next year will be huge. It will all be out in the open that he needs to make finals to survive. He will be dealing with that pressure day in and day out from supporters media etc. He will be a wreck next year. He has a family they dont want to see him go thru that. We were humiliated by Richmond in our 140th anniversary game.. we are used to distinguishing achievements. At the end of the day our financial soft cap is more important to the club.

Mate , from what I remember listening to your podcasts, you were one of the very few on here happy with managements emotional decision to sign Ken for a 3 year extention at the end of a failed finals campaign in 2017. So what's this meant to mean?

So when the club is giving us all the spin about China and community programs, they are going broke. So why are we paying Hinkley, Bassett & voss large pay packets. Ryder, Rockliff & Motlop would also be on good coin.

Now membership and crowds are down because of one bloody man that can't coach.

I have wondered where we were making up the money to have these people at our club, with all the feel good coming from Koch and KT, I assumed because our membership was up from 2012 we were okay.

It now makes sense why Wingard, Polec and Pittard were not must keeps. Wow I thought Koch was a smart money man.

I wonder how much China has cost us and what the rewards have been.

We have been deceived by KT and Koch, now senior players are being asked to help out financially.

We now have a coach we can't afford to sack. What a bloody mess.

We are Port Adelaide, not one of the AFL’s love children. Remember how Essendon got top ups and we didn’t.

I love your passion for the club but don’t let them or the AFL deceive you with their bullshit or the media with their false narrative.

We are not a poor little club regardless of what they tell you. We have a turnover revenue membership and support that most nrl clubs here and most sports clubs overseas would kill for. We are not a privately owned stand alone club but rather a business unit of the afl just like the other 17 clubs.

The AFL can move Hinkley on easily without effecting our bottom line and a 20k crowd on Sunday will show them that

We gave Hinkley a completely unwarranted extension on mega dollars. Thats whats caused it all.

We cant pay the salary cap, but we can pay him more than double what he is worth. No Hinkley and an extra 500K player would be more than handy.

So Caro confirming what I have suspected for a long time now, we are under paying the Salary Cap amount not to bank the savings to catch a big fish, but to just save money and make our small break even profit or 2018 $300k loss before adjustments not look so bad compared to spending 100% of the cap and making the bottom line $500k-$600k worse than it would be.

So we are going into every year now short of 1 big player because of lack of funds. Sounds fair.
