Opinion Sack Hinkley 3 - 2021 is worse than 2020 already

Could it be that a little bit of ******* accountability from the supporter base is actually getting that buffoon off his stupid ass?
It sure as **** got rid of no-captains.

And amazingly TJ is now having one of his best ever seasons and we have the best on-field leadership this year since Trav was playing midfield. What a coincidence huh

Ollie has seemingly gotten back to his best form as well.

I'm loathe to get ahead of myself but it's more than that as well. We're very safe with picking adequate structure because we have Marshall to come back and Westhoff waiting in the wings, so the chances of us going in with 1 or 1.5 tall forwards is really low. Outside mid is suddenly a strength instead of a weakness with Farrell a perfectly good replacement for Motlop until he's back.

This year feels different. I've felt we were good enough talentwise to compete every year, but this year we're actually getting the best out of that talent. For now.

If we even consider going in with less than 2.5 forwards now, we've got rocks in our heads.

So Shultzy has offered in the past to come back to the club to help with set shot kicking. Obviously the club turned him down...

#SackKenHinkley
We did the same with tredders, he went and helped tex, maybe the club made the right call on that one lol

He is obviously not getting sacked right now, but we also should not even be letting any thought of a contract extension enter the Alberton boardroom. If they are, then they should all be sacked #sacktheboard

The more success he has, the more his stocks rise, the more likely he starts fielding offers from rivals. Its no huge secret his wife doesn't enjoy living in Adelaide, the decision on whether he stays or goes might possibly be taken from the board this time around.

Perfect scenario, we win the flag this year and kern ****s off into the sunset

She didn't have enough impact last time around then he probably told her to buzz off and make a cuppa in the end.

Nah, the reason I want him to leave is because we haven't won anything, nothing else.

If we win, then he shuts me right up! That's his sole role.

There was no suitors last time around. All that Gold Coast nonsense was just Ken and his management trying (successfully) to force our hand.

I was to by someone at the time that Koch had been sounding out Stuart Dew. Cochrane played Koch like a fiddle.

There's no need to extend contracts though he's hit his trigger for next year just about.. win me the next two or I don't care mate seeya.
Absolutely no need to extend the contract until he's won it.
Then we talk.

If we win the flag this season I'm happy to see Hinkley see out the final season of his 2017 contract extension.

This is a very different Hinkley to the one we have seen in the previous five seasons.

Is the reason for this that a significant portion of the supporter base has voiced their disapproval of the club's acceptance of mediocrity or is it that the happy clappers were right and Hinkley just needed to be given more time for the penny to finally drop? We'll never know.

I doubt much of the disapproval filters through, this season it's probably a combination of the state of our list, and the fact we kept our coaching group (which finally appears to be gelling) together.

I'm not just talking about disapproval on HumungousSherrin. Supporters have been expressing their disapproval through numerous channels. Whatever the reason though Hinkley's attitude and methods have definitely changed.

We're not performing well this year because Ken's brilliant plan of appointing co-captains, playing short people at full forward and slow play along the boundary has finally paid off. We're performing well this year because he's fundamentally changed his coaching style.

It's almost like we did sack Hinkley and appoint somebody else in his place last season, because we're being coached almost completely differently this year. If he didn't keep picking Sutcliffe I'd half suspect Ken had been kidnapped and replaced with a doppelgänger.

Bang on.

The fundamental strategic flaws with how we've played over the past 5 years (with the exception of a genuinely tall KPD) have been resolved. We now play a style that suits our list and gets the best of our list. The players are confident because they're doing what the coaches are telling them and it's actually working. We're no longer losing games in the box or at the selection table.

If Ken Hinkley has become a good coach, obviously he can stay, but any extension needs to be based on a strong finish to this season and a strong 2021.
