port adelaide true believers page is astounding

Brad Scott coaching record:
2010: 9th
2011: 9th
2012: 8th
2013: 10th
2014: 6th
2015: 8th
2016: 8th
2017: 15th
2018: 9th
2019: 12th

Congrats Norf for all the success you had for staying the course. Its a record of course-staying that other sides can only dream of.

Much more success than failures like the Bulldogs that pushed McCartney out after just three seasons, or Melbourne who made the stupid mistake of pushing out Mark Neeld after just two seasons.

Chris Scott is under the same level of scrutiny, perhaps more so, than ken.

Scott has a flag. Scott has a winning percentage in the 70s not Ken's amazing 59%. Scott gets his team thereabouts every year. But he's still in the gun because they haven't taken the next step.

But not good ol stability ken!

Kornes this morning: To the doubters did Ollie's speech leave you any doubt Kinkley is the right long term coach for this club.

I think it absolutely cemented it to be honest.

It showed that we have one of the absolute top level elite players in the country, who has a great connection with the coach, and yet are still losing a home prelim by 70+ points. Shows what has been said a billion times - Ken is fantastic at being a friend, but not a good enough tactician to match it with top teams. The smart move would have been to make him director of football so he can manage those relationships some time ago.

So in the prelim ken has at his disposal:
-current Brownlow medallist
-last years Brownlow runner up
-an AFL MVP and club great
-last years all Australian CHF
-all Australian intercept defender
-butters, rozee and duursma
-one of the best wingmen in the comp
-a premiership ruckman

And he delivers a massive steaming turd.

Imagine not even being able to make a grand final with that assembly of talent

But but the true believers are telling us it's not Ken he a great coach and the players LOVE HIM

PREDAT0R has recently posted of a report he got first-hand as an Uber driver chatting to a previous coaching colleague of Hinkley’s at Gold Coast. Won’t be able to step up and handle the pressure of being a senior coach was the verdict. Unless I misread?
Well, he didn't say he won't be able, he said that he was not sure he could handle the pressure. But yeah, same gist.

Choco is more extreme in basically every facet. His team was further ahead of its competition, so his failures were arguably worse, but then he managed to well and truly sort them out mentally for 2004.

As you say, Choco at least seemed to acknowledge our failures and changed things. Paxman delisted after playing every game in 2003. Moving Chad from the forwardline to defence to focus on intercept marking. Choco didn't present as a bumbling idiot who didn't understand the game well enough to make the required changes.
This is exactly it, I wonder if the people who are drawing parallels between 2021 and 2003 even remember the soul searching and hard decisions that were made at the end of 2003. It wasn't "people thought I was a genius when we beat Essington, oh well we run it back next year".

Choco cut some favourites hard at the end of 2003.

Ken gets teary over dropping a wildly out of form Westhoff weeks too late.

Someone like Motlop would absolutely have been cut if our 2021 offseason was the equivalent of our 2003 offseason. Exactly the sort of player we looked to weed out.

THE MIDFIELD ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH

(Brownlow winner + Guy who polls 20+ every year)

The thing that Ollie and Trav's Brownlow performance highlights is how dependent our season was on too few contributors. That is partly a function of injuries to some other key players but it also shows a real threat to our ability to make finals. Too often, Wines and Boak had to produce a phenomenal performance to get us over the line because too many players elsewhere on the field were not performing. The result in the Prelim occurred partly because neither could produce a miracle yet again.

Relying on a couple of extraordinary players to drag everyone else over the line is not good coaching. It is the antithesis of the culture this club had.

Basically, Hinkley is lucky to be able to rely on Ollie, Travis and Robbie to pull his balls out of the fire. There is only so often you can expect that to keep going.

Edit: just to clarify, I'm saying Ken is a mediocre coach who has been lucky to be able to rely on some stars to look better than he is. Also, sack him. Sack him now.

imagine the long term good you would do in removing kane cornes' voicebox

If we make the finals and maybe win one they'll come out and say we're close again. Maybe offer him another 2 years.

Agreed, the kochmeister's trigger finger will be getting very itchy, if we make the finals and still win only one of them I can see him pulling it hard and giving kern another extension.

Edit
absolutely zero sexual innuendo was intended with this post!
