Caro absolutely doubled down on Ken to GWS just then.

Said (paraphrasing) "I'm not adding 2 and 2 and getting 5", "he is absolutely high on their list" and "Ken will get another coaching job after Port Adelaide"

First time I've ever enjoyed catching 5 mins of Rowe's show.

I'd get so much satisfaction out of ken to GWS and him actually making them worse 🤣

Anyone who thinks Hinkley couldnt get another senior job should ask the question how someone like Brett Ratten was able to get another job?

If you take the Port blinkers off, outsiders can see he has a decent W/L record and has a record that got a club to multiple prelims and finals

Whilst we all know he sucks dogs balls, other shit clubs will see something different than what we see... hopefully
Beg to differ on that one. Brad Scott got North to 3 prelims with arguably a far less talented list and he's on the AFL coaching scrap heap.

cornes has acknowledged similar.....something like

"its been a great 10 years but it is time"

which is very different to a few weeks ago

She also mentioned the link between Jimmy Bartel (currently on the Board at GWS) and Hinkley and that she's "convinced Ken has been short-listed along with obviously Clarkson".

A club struggling to be consistently competitive could do much much worse. He’s a bit like the soccer managers Sam Allardyce or David Moyes. Can mould a battle-hardened outfit to the safety of mid-table and just above, but can’t take the next step to genuinely challenge for trophies.

Your Gold Coasts, your North Melbournes, your (prior to this year) Carltons, your Melbournes (around the time Roos was parachuted in with that exact brief).

The key will be when to pass the baton to the guy capable of flagging up.
It's a valid proposition, except there's been 0 AFL clubs near the bottom say (effectively) 'We'll be shit for at least another 5 years, so we're going to get a coach whose good at the first steps for the next 2 - 4 years, before we get a coach who can win finals'. Any Admins who thought saying that would be locked up by their marketing departments, as they panic seeing memberships and sponsorships bailing. We see all too well here that every club has happy clappers who willfully buy into clubs propaganda.

A lot of people think Ratten was harshly treated when he was sacked for Malthouse, Carlton had injuries in his final season. Then he went to Hawthorn and spent seasons winning flags under Clarkson.

Ken has well and truly cooked Port.

In his own words Ken has created a good but not great team.

It’s exactly why he’s been able to survive this long notwithstanding his lack of silverware.

If Ken was terrible and we had seasons in the bottom 6 then it would be a no brainer for everyone to send him on his way.

But like an effective parasite, Ken hasn’t killed his host - he’s done just enough to keep it alive.

Long time lurker but I don’t post on here much. After reading selections tonight I could not hold back from saying my bit.

It’s actually with great sadness that I share very similar sentiments with some of you in that Ken has stripped me bare of any hope, passion and love that once burned deep within me for this club.

The fact that Duursma isn’t even in the picture, especially after his performance on Sunday, yet Motlop and friends are safe in our best 22 week after week… I am so fearful Xavier, along with the likes of Miles Bergman, will walk thanks to this expired campaigner. Imagine allowing someone who should be well and truly in our past drain our future.

Even unconfirmed reportings that reek of Ken’s smugness and lack of a real idea are enough to send what should be a tranquil Thursday night on the couch for me into a fit of unnecessary rage. If the Hayes rumours are true and he doesn’t play, we are walking into the game with the same attitude and arrogance of the “we are going to terrorise Lachie Neale” disaster. I don’t care how wet it is, Finlayson isn’t a ruckman and if the weather is your concern, leave Dixon (as much as we all love him) out until after the byes.

This guy hasn’t changed one iota in 10 years with these insipid calls, playing people outside of their positions and the blatant favouritism and comparative grudges he holds. I honestly can’t take another minute of him. Just get the f*** out of our club now.

I hope we get belted. Absolutely belted. How sad that this is where many of us are at…
