Yeah I don’t buy that people who regularly post on a forum for footy nuffies “don’t care” anymore.

Disgruntled sure.
I have been disgruntled for over 5 years now and nothing changes. But I guarantee if that muppet gets a contract renewal I am actually fully done with this footy club.

I would be beyond pissed if a 3rd rate Geelong player forced me to quit Port.

But I cannot, will not and should not (for my health) continue to watch this muppet dance, wiggle his fingers and smirk as though he has won a premiership each and everytime he knocks off a bottom dwelling team. I CANNOT ABIDE HIM

Here's some more FACTS for you Thunderpants.

9 clubs have had less scored against them than Port.

Carlton 14th - Freo 10th - Richmond 13th - Sydney 12th - WB 7th - St Kilda 5th - Melbourne 3rd- Brisbane 4th - Collingwood 1st.

Considering our injuries have been to forwards, Dixon, Marshall & Fantapants, our defence is borderline.

I don't mind this to be honest. Never really bought into the whole 'offence wins games, defence wins championships' idea. Give me a team that can put a score on the board that leaks a bit of a score back the other way over the boring defensive grind rubbish we've been used to for so long now.

9 ******* wins in a row. With so many outs. Many quality opponents.

People here are starting to look pretty ******* stupid each passing week.

Give credits where it's due. It's a phenomenonal effort. Enjoy it.
2021 prelim how did you look? That's what we are expecting, hinkley can make finals but go no further than a prelim.

Only problem is if the leaking happens in a big rush in the middle of a huge final. Don't mind having score kicked, but the rushes like Melbournes in the 3Q or Hawthorns on the weekend we need to work out a way to stop. Have time to work on it though.

That and our conversion are our two huge failures that will come back to bite us at some point. We have the second worst conversion in the top 13 (50%), and can't blame conditions as our opponents score at 57%

Means nothing if you drop out in the finals in the end.

Should not be a reason to keep hinkley

I still think when finals comes around we will be left wanting in defence, atm we are getting away with it due to our mids playing well and giving the opposition less opportunity making it a little easier down back.

Court of law.
Facts

Hinkley went down to the boundary after the crows loss in round three.

Unprecedented media scrutiny most notably and forcibly by only afl premiership captain and greatest afl era player.

Vice capt and capt dropped in the space of nine weeks.

Limited influence from past key players.

Major influence from young new guard.

Haven’t played as well since 2014.

Don’t know who’s responsible but it’s a 180 degree turn whichever way you look at it.

Agree with this. The last thing you want is Ross Lyon Freo era stuff where you get 3 goals down and the game is over because you don't know how to score.

There is very little possibility that our turn around in form is due directly to Hinkley. And what I mean by that is it the ideas, the tactics, etc have not come from his noggin. Maybe he is listening or being made to listen or has been usurped or lost his power to a strong committee of assistant coaches but the idea that Hinkley is still in complete control in year 11 seems highly unlikely.

Hinkley has a very strong track record of 10 years of unaccountability, intransigence, sticking with the old guard, stale magnets and gold cards.
These values have been changed completely around so we are now an intelligence and efficient coached team and most importantly, the players have a confidence in the coaching and the gameplan.
And it shows.

Sheesh life's too short to not enjoy the way the team is playing. That first half on Saturday was champagne football - regardless of whether it was 'just' hawthorn or not. What are folks on here gonna do when the inevitable Hinkley extension comes?
The best part of the first half was finally seeing some semblance of efficiency going forwards.

Not being able to do that to sides when we have been on top has seen us burnt time and again by the best sides when they inevitably have their own run.

I think JHF has injected enthusiasm into his fellow midfielders in Rozee and Butters, they are all working well together.

Why would anybody look stupid? I've never understood that.

Its like going in to work every day for a year doing no work and people saying you're shit at your job, then at the start of the next year you actually try at your job for a week and go haha you all look dumb for saying I was shit last year!

It seems like a good set up now and I hope we get success for everyone involved, but it doesn't excuse or justify the missed opportunities in the past decade.

Yes we are playing much better and I thank Warren Tredrea for getting the club out of it's comfort zone.
This ^^
There's been a massive paradym shift down there and if you follow the bread crumbs, it's coincided with Hinkley no longer in the box.

There's no doubt he has a tangible connection with the players... it definitely isn't hurting our performances - put it that way. As long as he stays down there and away from the box... I couldn't give a rats!
