I think the players sometimes come close to reverting to old habits regarding the practice you observed, but eventually they remembered the new plan and it paid dividends. Especially in the first two quarters, we put good play into scoreboard pressure in time-on. It can be very demoralising to give away late goals.

Yeah I think you might be right. I've seen defenders and the like looking sideways and backwards but unless they are switching play or spotting up a better option, I am yet to see us do either this year.

True, however, compare the team's trajectories over the last couple of years....

Saints - 2009: 20 wins
............2010: 15.5 wins
............2011: 12.5 wins
............2012: trend prediction... 8.5 wins
(average decrease of 3.75 fewer wins per year over previous 2 years)

Dees - 2009: 4 wins
..........2010: 8.5 wins
..........2011: 8.5 wins
..........2012: trend prediction: 10.5 wins
(average increase of 2.25 wins per year over previous 2 years)
Actually it's a quadratic trend not linear.
Saints to have 11 wins this year and a massive 26 wins in 2017
Demons to have 4 wins this year and go into negative next year.

I would actually like to hear from Pies fans their thoughts on Neeld vs Watters.

What roles did they play at the club? Who was more important to the way you guys played?

It seemed at the time we were getting the 'left overs' because we were so late to the party but Watters style has been a breath of fresh air at the club. Would we be getting this from Neeld?

Is one coach rated better internally by the Pies or is it just a case of Scotty taking over a much better list?

To be fair - this is correct more than anything. Its very hard to tell if Neeld is any good, the list is a joke at Melbourne!

St. Kilda has been to the finals 7/8 years before Watters got there. This is a tough, hardened unit and finally some youth are coming through and pushing spuds like Raph Clarke out the door. Thank god.

Er, you realise Raph hasn't been delisted or anything right? He'll probably be back in the team eventually. I think he might even be injured?

His decision making under pressure is deplorable. He will never be a Premiership player. Hence when the likes of Fisher and Gwilt come back in - who is he going to replace? (Name the 3 players?)

Lenny Hayes believes the window is still officially open and the Saints can win the flag this year

Maybe he should follow Justin Madden's lead and donate his brain to medical science

Well going by our win over Carlton last week we are more of a chance of winning the flag this year than they are.

Who cares about premiership odds? It's what actually happens out on the field that counts.

Carlton's premiership odds are only better than ours because you have more deluded supporters that are stupid enough to put money on their team.

TAB Sportsbet is not totalizator betting like the TAB odds on the horses. The TAB Sportsbet odds are OPINION odds, mate. They are partly based on the money received on each club, but mainly reflect the expert opinion of the bookies

that's $11 from about $4. a few more games like the last 2 we've had and positions can easily be reversed.

A smart Carlton supporter... which is ironic given your username :p

Do you think that being a One Eyed Sainter means he actually has one eye?

I've seen his posts around. He's not the brightest crayon in the box so I'd say he does....

(note - I realise you were being facetious, Furuncle play on! :thumbsu:)

yeah went terrible, playing a heap of kids & losing 2 AA quality players early.

one of those youll be familiar with - was AA for your lot, but you gave him away.

so sad.................for you :D

1 game out of the eight

Luckily St Kilda play GWS next week but then it's Adelaide, North Melbourne & Essendon.
They will need to win all three just to get back in the top 8 as those teams currently above them play a few easy sides in the next month.

Not happening', everyone makes a big deal of the Geelong oldies but check some of these names out who are over 28 years of age or older:
Riewoldt, Blake, Gram, Del Santo, Dempster, Fisher, Hayes, Jones, Koschitzke, Milne, Montagna, Peake, Schneider.

hey are the oldest list in the competition for a reason and the loss tonight highlighted why they aren't going to challenge for a few years again and will be lucky to make the 8 this season.

Suns, Saints play the Suns next week.

Peake and Schneider haven't even played this season.

If McEvoy and Stanley were fit, they would be it at someones expense.

Tonights loss highlighted that having a ruck is handy.

Oh, ....................................

So could've you but Ross the Boss said in the 2009 Granny, Bally you are playing shit, in 47% of game time.LOL

You are now "passing another Rossy screw up", by Lind****ed.
