Just seen the nicnat interview about his surgery. I was under the impression it was a scarring up procedure but no...!

He has effectively had an Achilles rupture reattachment procedure.

Take it to the bank he won't play for our club ever again.

Thank you for your service, kind sir. I knew I wasn't tripping when I was saying we barely seen Yeo since the Granny. And Nic Nat's and Shuey's games are higher than what I expected as well.

Agreed, unfortunately.

I can say from personal experience he will not be anywhere remotely close to the required strength and flexibility in his ankle after 10 months to play AFL.

If he’s lucky, maybe a token game or two at the end of the 2024 season.

Most likely career over. Genuine champion of the club and amazing in his prime.

Deserves a farewell game at the very least after all he’s done for the club so hopefully he doesn’t pull the pin at the end of the year
He does deserve a farewell game but it is unlikely that he'll do 10 months of rehab, then a late season pre-season just to get fit enough for one farewell game at the end of the year.

It's sad for football that we rarely saw the best he had to offer. Imagine what a career he would have had if he could have done his 15 seasons virtually injury free.
15 seasons with say an average of 20-21 games (including finals) would be 300+ games of dominance.
Instead we got maybe 100 fully fit games, 100 managed minute games and 13 games where he went off injured early.

A huge loss to the game. Oh what could have been.

It's a tough game. Not only do you need to be talented and disciplined, you also need a body durable enough to put up with getting knocked about, week in week out. I'd reckon there's a ton of blokes with AFL level talent and discipline who never play a single game at AFL level because their body just isn't up to the rigour of it. In that sense, Nic's done very well. But it's time.
