What do you mean it is more alarming than you thought?
5 of the guys left on good terms with the coach, he wasn't the reason they left.
Yeah my bad. Just a crazy coincidence I guess with so many so happy but left for no reason as clearances close that we’re so happy with everything.

Can’t believe i thought something other.

What’s everyone’s thoughts at the moment in each team ?

South Mornington. - on the right track, should win it but have a long way to go to be competing for finals in Div 3.

Moorabbin - bad day yesterday but rebuilding the club from the ground up. Many of there best are older and not sure where they will be in 5 years as a club.

Hampton - after where they were last year a great turn around and potentially play in a grand final. Again a lot of older players and an older area so going to be hard to keep bringing in youth.

Dandenong - cop a lot of hate on here and a lot is bought on by themselves. Improving each year of late and seniors will play finals . If they have the budget to pay all players and keep topping up adding in they could keep improving but if they stop paying and lose a lot could hurt. Very tricky one to predict from the outside.

Doveton - will eventually win the spoon again and if they lose to lyndale next time by 100 points again then you would have to say they have gone backwards after there walk out and unsure of where they will be.

Lyndale - who knows . Never seem to improve but have three sides so people must enjoy being around the club. Can they get some quality in next season and improve?

The big one is if division 4 is folded next session (which no one can actually predict) . Sides near the bottom will find it really hard to attract/ recruit new players as it’s going to be an inevitable season.

Should get vafa Div 4 teams to join? Looks like vafa 3&4 will merge

SFNL need to shake up Div 4 next season. At the rate it’s going it won’t exist in a couple years. 6 teams isn’t sustainable long term.
Might have to try and recruit a couple teams from the lower rungs of the VAFA.
Anyone know if Sandown or Cerberus will attempt to field 2 teams again? Or how South Yarra are tracking for next year?

If Sandown want…they can field 2 teams and play Div 4. Looks like they are dominating in thirds and so are Heatherhill. I reckon one more year and these two clubs could field seniors and reserves. Cerberus a little doubtful at the moment.

Div 4 should be 8 - 10 teams. Reserves isn’t a must. Most teams have blokes running around in the reserves that are close to if not well over 40… if the reserves have to have a bye here and there so be it, will help a few of the older bodies recover.

Div 4 focus should be seniors and an U/18 team. Get some youth back at the club feeding into the seniors, not chase has beens on crutches to play in the reserves.

Doveton got done by 150+ points I think anyone can tell it’s horribly run, hence why their best players left. I think their players who want to keep playing should move to St. John’s who are down the road, and doing extremely well in the reserves and picking up momentum in the seniors or doveton doves who knocked off top of the table on Saturday and who’s twos will play finals.

Next season make the move ofc see this year out there and then move to one of those clubs who seem to be doing well.

St Johns might be Dandenong based (down the road) but have been playing out at Keysborough. Not exactly around the corner……many clubs between Dovey and Keysy. Might not be the best choice!

Wrong, ground is located very close only for a year apparently. And doves is right next to the shops about a 150m walk from
There, doveton eagles should just give it a rest or play 3s.

And probably should have South Yarra as well

Go 16 and have 2 divisions of 8.
14 game home and away plus finals. Can even have a cross conference play off if it’s area based and not division.

Simples. That’s $5k consulting fee thanks

One of the most logical ideas seen on an SFL chat board in a long time. HQ won't go for it though, makes too much sense

How is Leroy Jetta able to play this weekend with clearances being closed? Does that just go under a permit?
Actually think him at the eagles for this round is great just curious how it all works more than anything

What’s the point of having a clearance system with set dates when clubs can just ‘mutually agree’ whenever they like. Flying in for one game to fly back out. Interesting to know how much $ Doveton have spent that could have been better utilised towards retaining players.

I don’t think there is a deadline for clearances.

While I don't like the fly in/fly out players, they seem to be good money spinners for the clubs that utilise them. Hopefully they can get a good crowd and get a much needed cash injection into the club
