Remember we were never getting decent DP's coz we were near top of the table then there was the Lovett debacle....

We were almost victims of our own success.
Ohhh the Lovett debacle.

I don’t know why but that **** up nearly ended me. I was so insanely mad about that decision at the time.

The Lovett situation was one for this guy to explain ......

Word is the players were told today that Ross the Boss has signed on to coach next year.
Should be announced tomorrow or Thursday.

Jack Steven is a weird hill to die on re Ross not playing the kids. Had year 12 commitments and OP early on. Still played regularly enough considering how good we were back then

Watched a bit of VFL around those years and we were pretty good at VFL (especially compared to now). By memory, the young ones smashing down the door for selection were Lynch, Miles and Ferguson (Lynch especially). Guess Ross just trusted Polo / Gamble types to execute their roles better then raw kids. In hindsight, when playing for a flag like we were in 09/10, I have no issue with this. But if we are going for a V2, I would like to see a bit more of a preference for kids over recycled for those last few spots being picked.

Jarryd Allen was always the one I wanted in. Could have been anything. Body just wasn't up to it sadly.

LOL, we picked Nicholas Winmar, ahead of Gawn, Astbury, Vardy, Christensen and Stratten, because some clown thought his name would make supporters feel good.

A year earlier after our first round pick, Lynch, there was Shuey, Ballentine, Trengrove, Zharakis, Suban, Beams, Hannebury, Jordan Roughead, Liam Jones, Liam Shiels, Mitch Robinson, Sloane, Hunt, Savage.

No i wouldn't have picked them, but i don't get paid to pick them.

Channel 7: "We now go live to Ross Lyon's first training session as the returning St Kilda coach. We can see here that, despite his athleticism, Mason Wood has sadly been dismissed from the club."
Ch7 we would like to go to Ross Lyon’s first training session but he has locked us out , it seems the bubble is back

Yeah yet another one of media guys just saying random s**t for no particular reason.
Has Ross mended his relationship with Gerard Whately..? He smashed us on Monday morning calling us desperate. Usually much more considered and reserved but I think they have beef.

Yep Allen could have been really good. Hip, wasn’t it?

Wow i wouldn't trust that memory of yours much.

Lynch was thereabouts, but there was no smashing doors down.
Miles was always injured.
Mathew Ferguson was drafted in 2002, and wasn't much good. Jackson was drafted after 2010, and was really not very good and not relevant to our premiership chances. ( Neither were Polo or Gamble ).
We wanted to play these guys, because the on-field performance was lacking, and we were clutching at straws.

Lyon got Gamble and Polo because they were cheap and weren't totally lost on the field. In contrast to what we see now with the Cats, all the salary cap was being sucked up by our big stars.

good let them hate. The St Kilda bubble is back and media opinions don’t matter anymore. My test levels are rising with each passing day

going to jump on this.

s**t yes

Geelong debut 4 this year
tigers 3
Brisbane 2
Pies 3

the more relevant question is did we have kids worth debuting?
Stuv Armo and Lynch all went to have decent careers. Where they ready then, not going to argue history but its a shame we kept going to spuds like Polo and Gamble.

I'd argue it is easier to introduce new kids when the team is performing than say under the Watters/Richo years/

He was introduced

Now now if we can't start playing nice, we can all go log back in to our main accounts and head back to the norf board.
Good to see you are doing well mate! (You posting suggests you are, lol)

Surely the presser will be Thursday or Friday. Two meetings and apparently romantic candlelight dinners months before that?

Ross walked out of that first one like he'd just had his first date.

Wonder if the club remains open or if they go back to the bubble. I would love to see inner sanctum stuff of Ross this time around.

You seem really desperate to pot me about this even though it’s absolutely done and has been for 2 day so fill your boots son.
Pay no attention to it. We all know exactly what you meant and for those of us that still aren't head over heels for Ross, we completely agree with you.

The inner sanctum is Ross.
