the abbreviation of "once in a generation" to "generational" is beyond stupid.

"Generational" means 'of a generation', e.g. "a millenial's tendency to not work hard is a generational trait"

Every single player in the AFL right now are generational.
When someone says "that food could kill a brown dog" do you protest saying a dog's fur colour has no bearing on its gastrointestinal ability to safely absorb nutrients?

Horse started Mills back at the first bounce after 3/4 time. Weird. He was protecting a lead not winning the game. It was a tactic that nearly lost us the match

Just check this, this is wrong. Mills started Q4 off the wing closest to the camera.

At 16.46 Mills had a shot on goal, clearly still on the wing

At 13:14 (score 93-73) Mills is still STILL in a wing position

At 10:58 (score 93-79), hard to see the bounce but you see a player run forward… wouldn’t you know it, it’s MILLS, STILL ON THE WING

At 7:11 (score 94-85) Essendon takes the ball forward, player bottom of screen tracked from wing. Mills again. STILL ON THE WING.

I didn’t bother going further as at this point even if Mills did get moved back, Horse was well within his rights.

Honestly, do people just make this stuff up because it aligns to a biased narrative they’ve already committed to?

The narrative that Horse tried to save the game at the start of the 4th is complete nonsense sorry.

As we lost momentum throughout the quarter players pushed back to support as we were under siege. Pretty much every team in the AFL does this. We couldn’t wrestle the momentum back (which is the point of it) but we did enough thankfully to take home the chocolates.

Errol Swans Goal of the Week

aside from the very clever goal the opportunity started with his contribution to smothering a Bomber defenders kick, ie hard blue collar work.

All I will say is that Lieutenant Dan would go better than our current mids.

On another note, you've gotta feel sorry for Essendon. Finals on the line, must-win match, home game, and then they become the first team in V/AFL history to have to play without an important key defender. I don't think Jobe Watson mentioned it enough for how truly historic a blow it was for the Bombers. A real tragedy. :brokenheart: I hear Tom Holland has been cast to play Jordan Ridley in the movie.
I stopped reading when I read feel sorry for Essendon.... sarcasm or not, these words do not compute in my brain.

No matter how far in front we get, you know we’ll let the opposition back.

Coaching?

Player’s mentality?

I don’t know - but it’s bloody horrible being a Swans fan at times.
We continue to go into "save the game mentality" even though this has proved time and time again to be a disaster.

I agree. It's also simplistic to imply that as soon as it's three quarter time and we're up we just shut up shop. In most of these games where we've blown leads in the fourth quarter, the signs were actually there in the last portion of the third quarter, too. And again the last two weeks. With about seven minutes to go in the third against both Freo and the Bombers, the run and the pressure has just sorta... fizzled out.

Given the highly unlikely chance that the coaches are instructing our boys to stop taking the game on and trying to win before the third quarter's even over - especially when these leads we're having are never really insurmountable leads - I'm still absolutely convinced that it's a fitness issue.

If we hadn’t gone defensive we would have lost and then many would be whinging that Horse was hopeless. We couldn’t win the ball (as Mills indicated when interviewed).

We went defensive when Essendon were on the charge (at a time we didn’t have Rampe on field). I have debunked the claims Mills was parked in defence for the final quarter.
