Great win , but there is banter every where in every game, think what you like !

I don’t think you understood the context that it was shown Bedford.

The banter wasn’t the focus, it was how disorganised the Richmond defence was and how we choose to pull apart their defenders, even just by playing some mind games with them.

I thought it was pretty awesome actually, shows you how shaken up Richmond was.

Interesting what morris said as well, Richmond will be prepared next time. Looking forward to seeing how teams adapt to us through the year.

It’s not a stat for Papley and no one other than the players on the field are going to see it. But his goading of Baker to come off the back of the square again (which Baker is designated by them to do) directly led to the Warner goal from the centre square.

If Baker comes off the back of the square as instructed, Warner doesn’t kick that goal and the momentum doesn’t shift as it did.

It just shows that there are so many small facets to the game that the supporters don’t see that can contribute in a significant way.

Also some fantastic footage down the ground of Papley giving it to Baker after the Heeney goal in the second quarter and the effect the mental side of the game can have on the flow and outcome with Warner’s goal next.
On camera there were three times where Caddy got his hair ruffled and got pissy about it. Petty for sure, but funny when it happens to other teams.

Geez, there's a surprise, Barrett bringing up last year's game v Richmond looking to create a bit of controversy.

Interesting that Paps talks up hublife again, considering how many other clubs seemed to struggle with it, we seemed to have embraced it and benefited from it. :thumbsu:

Reckon Horse would have worked them through the possibilities inherent in hub life and helped them get the most out of it.

I wonder if this is where they realise how Vic centric they are? Nah. Just some fresh material. Not one of them will get on a plane to watch training or interview fans.
Since Covid, it does not seem that any TV commentators travel to the interstate games - all done from the Melbourne studio.
????

What Healy have to say?

They talked about how we are defending much further up the ground than previously, how we are trying to get the ball off the opposition before it goes into our 50.

They also talked about how forward 50 setup and how our forwards are all keeping good separation so Richmond players could not converge on any one player, as well as talking about our short and sharp kicks. They also talked about how Sydney have the best record in the new stat which measures hard kicks that are done correctly, because kicking efficiency also counts the kicks every player should make, the new stat measures how hard a kick is, and if it works, and apparently Sydney are going for the hard kicks and they are generally working because we have quite a lot of good kickers in the team.

Maybe delayed until tomorrow, given there was a game on Easter Monday
Why delay the inevitable? Not like anyone will be considered from the trash we saw this afternoon. They should save themselves the time and give Logan the round 4 one before he kicks his bag of 6 goals.
