Very good take from Derm on the end of game umpiring and their refusal to give us free kicks

Great audio and once again, Derm sees things that no other afl “media” commentator can see or refuses to call out.

Fair play to Derm and it’s a pity there is t more of this. He is 100% correct and verbalised why I was so frustrated leaving the ground.

Think we were 4th or 5th oldest team on the weekend.

That's the funny thing about having a couple of pretty old guys in the team all of a sudden. Suspect we were pretty young the week before.

AFL 2023: Where does your club spend its salary cap

Isaac Heeney $850,000-$950,000, 27, Forward
Dane Rampe $800,000-$900,000, 33, Defender
Callum Mills $700,000-$800,000, 26, Defender
Tom McCartin $650,000-$750,000, 23, Defender
Luke Parker $650,000-$750,000, 30, Midfielder
Lance Franklin $550,000-$650,000, 36, Forward

The Swans will free up about $600,000 when Franklin calls time on his glittering career. The word is they want to go shopping, with bookends Ben McKay and Aaron Naughton, as well as Eagles intercepting defender Tom Barrass, on their list of potential targets. But after a tight salary cap helped squeeze out the likes of Aliir Aliir, Jordan Dawson and George Hewett, you would hope they have some cash banked for their next-generation stars. Co-captain Callum Mills is due for a pay rise when his long-term contract kicks in while Errol Gulden, Braeden Campbell, Chad Warner are tracking towards being superstars of the game, and it would not surprise if Angus Sheldrick and Logan McDonald eventually broke into their top bracket. Nick Blakey has signed until 2031 (yes, 2031). Another elite midfielder should be high on the target list – the Swans were smacked 19-7 in centre clearances on Thursday night – considering they will regard themselves as being right in the premiership window in 2024.

Best defender week in week out. Co captain. History shows he's been worth it
I assume Ramped has taken a significant hair cut on his salary ove4 the next two years. Really hope I'm right. Pre injury he was in great nick and I hope he sees out his term and leaves the game having not stayed too long as other champions have done.

No. What I think occurred is he took a hit to his salary earlier and before his most recent contract and this is payment is basically making up for it.

#1 wingman in the AFL? Go you good thing Errol!

Don Pyke's name is going to appear for a few coaching jobs i think

Smith to miss our match on Thursday

It’s all good though I keep hearing

Our list is the best young list with huge upside.

Not worried about being bottom dwellers at all
I hear you, but we'd also be 3rd on the ladder with 11 wins and 5 losses if the siren was blown at 3QT.

That suggests a clear fitness problem that can be easily remedied with one massive off-season and pre-season by the boys.

So I don't think anyone's denying it's not horrific. I just think people can still see a clear way out of it.

Don't believe anything from the Murdoch media

Horse speaking ahead of his 300th game

  • Wont be coaching when he's 70 lol
  • 11/16 games we've been Infront at 3/4 time which is top 3 in the comp, last year we're infront 7/16 games
  • Amartey & Wicks in consideration
  • Giving Buddy every opportunity to play this week (imo he'll be wanting to play for horse 300th)
  • No Chad this week, we need more midfield depth
  • Lloyd is feeling okay but won't play this week (concussion protocol)

Fitness but also we haven't adjusted well to opposition coaches in-game adjustments imo.
