Thought it was interesting at the end when AP was asked "Will there be someone you'll be going for at the end of this year?" (in the context of Plugger, Hall, Franklin) and
AP replied "Well I hope so"....."important for us to have players that excite the fans" ....."I believe we will "(have money available).

I loved that ending as well!!

Dean Towers is coming back!!

Trying to read the Swans trade/draft plans is impossible - so I'm likely to be completely wrong

but, the way i read things is..
We traded into this years draft with Kinnear saying we're going to be more active.
We've 2 Academy kids looking likely to be decent players in Cabor & Cleary
We haven't spent any $$ at the trade table for years, been paying a lot of 1st & 2nd contracts and Pridham saying we have some $$ to spend.
Locked away Paps, Heeney & Mills (Paps has an extra gig with FOX racing, Heeney has an extra gig as FOX footy ambassador)

Himmelberg would be great and hes a free agent..
So Himmelberg and who else?? With Buddy, Hickey, Reid, Rampe, Paddy either at the end or near it, Reckon the Swans will need more than one KPP

I also spoke briefly to Kinnear when I ran into him in Adelaide and asked him about Logan’s future. He assured me that there will be no concern with Logan. In fact, he looked surprised that I would have any worry.

Maybe because he is already signed to the end of 2024?

True but my question to him was something along the lines of “we’ve got to sign Logan to a long term deal. Keep him forever.” To which he looked at me in surprise and said “Logan? Don’t worry about Logan. He’s good.”
Jordan? Don't worry about Jordan. He's good.

Excellent.
As I've mentioned on here about 5000 times, I sat next to his grandad at the GF and he assured me that Logan is 100% committed to the Swans and hopes to be a one club man. It's nice to hear that backed up from another source

Yeah but if West Coast offer 3 first round picks, the keys to Basil's house and a small business jet. It would be mad for Logan not to take it.

Hence the "hopes" and not the "will".
No one knows what the future holds, we may trade him out one day - certainly hope not as he looks to me to have all the tools ala Nick Reiwoldt.

I think you overestimate the “pull” of Perth.

I know (through a family friend in the WAFL) that Logan is absolutely loving life in Sydney.

I see him as one of our lesser retention risks.

SEN... Who will win and why

Geelong v Sydney

Saturday - 7.25pm - GMHBA Stadium

The Geelong Cats will play at GMHBA Stadium for the first time this season and what better occasion than the Grand Final rematch against the Sydney Swans. A trip to Kardinia Park is considered the toughest task in footy. Since 2013, Geelong have an 85 per cent win record (55 wins and 10 losses).

However, the Swans don’t fear GMHBA stadium like other teams and have won three of their past four matches against Geelong at the venue and have held the Cats to under 90 points in all games. The key to a Swans victory is whether the mental scars from their 81-point thrashing in the 2022 Grand Final against the Cats can be overcome.

The Swans will still be without the McCartin brothers, whilst Lance Franklin remains out. Despite the significant omissions, the Swans proved during Gather Round that they aren’t reliant on their stars to secure a win. The Cats are also dealing with injuries to Tyson Stengle and Rhys Stanley.

This has all the hallmarks to be a thrilling Saturday night clash with Geelong looking for three consecutive wins and the Swans wanting redemption for last year's Grand Final.

Tip: Sydney by 9 points

Charles Goodsir

Not a bad write.. thank you Mr Goodsir

From starting his career as a yappy small forward, Papley is still that but much more, averaging more than six centre bounce attendances and three clearances a game this season. He's both cause and effect of chaos for the Swans, capable of deciding when to roam higher up the ground and when to stay at home close to goal.

Over the past year-and-a-half, Papley's midfield minutes have been central to his more rounded game, with other clubs also using their small forwards in similar ways.

We don’t need to invest in a new high profile FF. If we do it right, Joel Amartey can be the dominant AFL FF in coming years. He has developed very well and his body work off the ball is something to watch. He has the ability to be the FF we already have. Watch his games and watch him positionslkynand how he reads the drop. Stop looking elsewhere, maximise the investment already made here, Amartey can be anything . Inwould be backing him in as the future
