What you would like to happen:
Goddard - keep
Dea - undecided, delist unless they don't resign Kelly or Hibberd
Cooney - delist
Ashby - delist
Dempsey - delist unless they don't sign two of Hibberd, Kelly or Dea
Edwards - delist
Ambrose - keep probably
Gwilt - delist
Kommer - delist
Kelly - keep (top up)
Stokes - delist (top up)
Hams - delist
McKenna - keep
Long - keep
Wallis - undecided
Nyuon - keep

*only listed top ups I've heard some people want to keep. Feel free to add any you wish.
Think Wilbur could stay as a small pressure forward, if the rest go as you say. Would keep Dea from what I have seen although know will prob be depth next year. Reckon Edwards will have a couple cracking games this year but may not be enough. Unknown injuries from here till season end may change altogether

A major cleanout is required. We need to turn 8-10 over. We have the basis of a good 20-25 but need to find another few.

Ashby - delist
Kommer - delist
Edwards - delist
Hams - delist
Long - delist
Gwilt - delist
Pears - delist
McKernan - delist

Howlett and Stanton - retire.

Goddard - 1 year, lucky.
Cooney - delist, but may keep depending on Howlett/Stanton status.
Dempsey - with so many going may get another run due to lack of quality from Gleeson, Ashby

J Merrett - lucky he has another year.
Gleeson - another year but with Jackson will be part of the 2017 cull.
Tippa - upgrade
McKenna - another year, long term project, likely to be part of 2017 cull if not sooner.

Top ups - all gone.

Hit the draft hard. See if we can get someone in the PSD.

You would cut Long over Wallis? Kidding yourself

You're the worst troll I've seen on here.

Whilst I agree that Long shouldn't be cut, Wallis has shown as much as Long in his first year at VFL level.

Long had hardly played footy in the past two years and was a project player. Wallis played two years of TAC cup football and doesn't look close to resembling an AFL player. Skinny inside mids around 180cm with no POD can't make it at AFL level. I'd go as far to say that Wallis was a token pick.

So if we cut 20 players! And only get 10 of the 12 back how the hell will we get another 10 players? Do a Richmond and get some mature age spuds in?

no way in hell cooney and dempsey don't stay on, they have been in great form. (if they keep it up)

They just posted An article on the afl site about our list. Does anyone have any information about Langford and laverdes contract talks? The article made it seem like Langford was staying but Laverde was still early stages. I would think it's only a matter of time before they both have officially signed, but does anyone have any more info?

I know you don't rate him but he's shown enough to get at least another year on the rookie list IMO

He's hardly trolling, if I were to do the same list I wouldn't be far off Kelvin, I'm sure many others would too.

Is this trolling? Cos it's very similar, but to me looks very reasonable.

Of the 12:
Pears retires
Howlett trade
Hibberd trade if a good offer, keep if not
Retain the rest

Of the uncontracted:
Ambrose delist
Ashby delist
Gwilt delist
Edwards delist
Kommer delist
McKernan ?
Dempsey /Cooney retire or 1 year dependent on numbers.
Retain the rest

Of the top-ups:
Draft Dea

Of the rookies:
Hams delist
Walla upgrade
retain the rest

I'd basically agree with that. I don't really rate Ambrose but I've been impressed enough with him this year that I'd reconsider with him.

Not sure how I feel about Gwilt or McKernan. Assuming Hurley signs back on, though, there probably isn't room for all of Amby, Smack and Gwilt though.

Nope, just need to be ruthless to achieve success.

We've been too nice for too long. We still can't make the tough decisions.
Care to explain why delist Long?

He's gone with delist 11 and don't sign Dea.

You've gone delist 6 and sign Dea.

He wants us to take 11 picks into the draft. You want us to take 5.

If you can't see the difference in how you've structured your list changes compared to his then I can't help you.

Halfway point I see us doing:

Delist:

Jason Ashby
Shaun Edwards
Patrick Ambrose
Nick Kommer
Will Hams
James Gwilt
Shaun McKernan

Retire:

Courtenay Dempsey (maybe)
Tayte Pears
Adam Cooney

Trade in:

Dion Prestia + (current) pick 8 for pick 1.
Ben Howlett for (current) pick 30 (West Coast)

Upgrade:

Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti

Leaves us with 7-9 list spots for the senior list and 1-3 rookie spots (not including Category B rookies). What I'd want from those spots are:

2x inside mid, one big bodied
2x outside mid, one mature aged
2x KPD, one mature aged, other project
1x KPF, young
2x ruck, one forward/ruck, other depth mature-aged player
1x small/medium defender

So I'd draft something like:

Pick 8: Todd Marshall (KPF)
Pick 19: Jordan Gallucci
Pick 30: Dylan Clarke
Pick 37: Darcy Cameron
Pick 55: Ozgar Uysal
Pick 73: James Ferry
Pick 91: Matthew Dea

Rookie draft:

Pick 1: Project KPD
Pick 19: mature aged outside mid
Pick 37: mature aged depth ruck

Of course if we can get the mature agers through DFA I'd do that instead.

eth-dog Jack Graham (183cm 83kg) would be an excellent selection at 19 if SPP (as I suspect) is not available, he is very clean in tight and has a powerful first few steps out of congestion. Willem Drew (188cm 78kg) is also a very good inside midfielder although he's limited to just that, whilst Tim Taranto can make an impact as a medium forward as well as an inside midfielder (186cm 82kg).

As for the outside mid, Andrew McGrath (180cm 73kg) is not getting the amount of attention I expected. If available he would be an absolute bargain.

I don't think Darcy Cameron would go that high as someone who still has some large deficiencies in his game. Uysal and Ferry can probably be picked up in the rookie draft too. So based on the positions you addressed as needing to be filled I would go with the following.

Pick 8: Todd Marshall
Pick 19: Jack Graham
Pick 30: Andrew McGrath
Pick 37: Willem Drew
Pick 55: Darcy Cameron
Pick 73: Tyler Keitel
Pick 91: Matt Dea

RD

Pick 1: Ozgur Usyal
Pick 19: James Ferry
Pick 37: ???

Still think we lack a quality HBF (especially if Hibberd leaves) and most definitely a good small forward.
