Re: Jericho out, Roo in

I am now going down to the parade on Friday night to watch LJ tear the Bays a new one out of sheer frustration!

Absolutely ridiculous that Jericho was dropped for an unfit Roo who will play off the bench in 5 minute bursts! I love Roo, but to drop someone who is currently in-form and showing us what he is made of is nuts. His confidence would be at an all time low.

Not happy Jan!
Its roo!

Jericho was lucky to be in the side in the first place, he should have to go back andforce his way in its a character test, if he passes then his future will look bright. If his form is as good as everyone says he will have no problem breaking break in.

I don't care if it's Malcolm Blight re-incarnated! Jericho deserved to be rewarded for good form and he was not! There were plenty others who have NOT been performing that could have made way for the bench warmer.

It was the logical swap. Move on.

Nothing logical in dropping an in-form player.

Roo >>> Jericho.

And how do you know he will only play 5 minute bursts?

Jericho would know that the only reason he is not playing is because the greatest ever crow is coming back into the team, there will be more opportunitie for Luke and I am sure officials would have told him this.

Spot on :thumbsu:

Because that's what he and Craigy said??? And realistically, how much game time will he be capable of after not playing for so long?

Roo may or may not be "the greatest ever crow" (I am sure there is a whole thread devoted to that subject), but he hasn't played for 10 months. That is a fact (sad but true). For the games he played last year, he was half the player he used to be. I hope he knocks our socks off tomorrow!

I HOPE there will be more opportunities for Luke, though if they bring in an untested player (for 10 months) in Roo for him this week, what hope has he really?

My whole point on this is that Craig has always said they will reward good form. In this case it appears that is far from the truth.

As to who I would have dropped? Torney or Stevens - OR give Griff a rest to make sure the ankle is right, put Perrie in as second ruck and Roo in the forward line while Perrie is in the middle.

Stevo is playing because they wanted another tall. He's not taking Jerichos spot. Team balance wins out there. Torney is a proven performer, had a stinker last week, but is a reliable senior performer. Was never going to be dropped.

OR give Griff a rest to make sure the ankle is right, put Perrie in as second ruck and Roo in the forward line while Perrie is in the middle.

If Griff is fit he plays, we want 2 ruckman, plus Griff can be dangerous going forward and stretch their defence. Once again team balance wins out.

Didn't have a pre-season last year and managed to play almost all of round 1.

Don't underestimate his ability to perform under duress.

Ah yes, but how effectively? IMO, he struggled all of last season with what appeared to be a groin? Perhaps it was his back. Who knows, but in any case he was half the player he used to be - had the turning circle of a mac truck and certainly was unable to last any length of time on the ball.

Please don't get me wrong, I love and respect Roo, I am just not convinced his inclusion (and Jericho's subsequent dropping) is what is best for the team this week.

Ya reckon you could point out where I said that exactly????

You called him a 'bench warmer' instead of 'best ever Crow ever' and you cried about his inclusion this week.

We are playing a team without a win, they are a good side who we can't take lightly though BUT next week we face a high flying outfit so it would be great if Roo could get a run this week before next week's massive encounter where the The Club will be in full force.

You don't think he'll be played off the bench after 10 months out of the game??????

And I am only crying at the exclusion of an in-form player, for an unknown quantity in a returning Roo. I don't want him sacked, but I do want what's best for the TEAM. I am not convinced this is it. Maybe he will prove me wrong and have an absolute blinder today. I hope so.

So you think he should be brought back next week in a massive game? He's fit now so bring him in now! If he can snag a few goals that's a bonus, he will lift the team regardless and the run will keep him in good stead for next weeks blockbuster against the handbaggers.
