Very difficult to judge Eddie harshly IMO, but i agree with you he did mix business and friendships, but you can guarantee he thought it was the right decision, not just based on friendship but unfortunately in hindsight he will realise it has been a mistake.

He probably thought he was on a roll from a premiership year.

I personally think history will judge him as the greatest Collingwood president ever albeit he moved from Victoria Park, but the positives have far outweighed the negatives.

Complacency is underrated.

When you feel youre a world beater.. and no one can touch you.. they either come after ya.. or wait for you to make silly decisions.

As good as eddie has been.. he's human.. he makes mistakes like everyone else.. i just feel as though he thought everything would fall into place.. goes to show.. there is a job description.. and every criteria needs to be met. Obviously wasn't.. and there's a million of us that have witnessed the shit hit the fan today.

In 2018 under a new coach:

Spread our mids all over the park.. defence midfield and forward.. there's a lot of talent there to exploit.. if it means Smith and Ramsay have to make way for Aish and say Brown.. then do it.

Thats what I'd like to see..

The new coach will have a much better idea of what to do.. the value of each player.

I look at the box i see birdbrains like sando rocca harvey and bucks.. out!!! All of em!!!

He should be held accountable for what he has done and in essence he used this club as his own personal playground for self fulfilment because he never won a flag as a Collingwood player. Its treason.
