You're implying malicious intent by Buckley? C'mon, that's a bit harsh, surely?

For all his faults, could hardly accuse him of ill-intent

I do agree that he needs to be held accountable for our performances.

Yeah, looking like you called it. Kudos.

Would you be happy for Buckley to coach out the rest of the season?

I suspect that's what Ed will try to do (it's looking inevitable :( ) but I reckon the best thing will be to move him on.

It's all about saving face so probably would last the season.. but what Ed fails to realise that it's considered a great loss of face.. to lag behind the pace. He should just sack him.. show that the club is bigger than any friendship no matter how good their romantic dinner dates have been over the yrs.

Hey Krueger, haven't seen you around much, how are you doing?

Here to collect your tribute? ;)

What's your prediction for what will happen this year?

Hey 76, all good here thanks. Nah no tribute to collect as I saw it coming years ago. The signs were there even in 2012 when our star players were winning games for us off through sheer ability. The list turnover has been immense with players not getting along with the coach and ridiculous drafting and and player selection policies rife. I wont say anything about the game plan.

I dont see Buckley resigning no matter what unless he is given the opportunity before he is sacked but doubt Ed will do that so we will continue along as before winning some big games along the way which will give false hope as previous. Rinse and repeat as per the last 5 years.

Why don't you post when we win?

Yeah supporters who are more inclined to see the club appoint a coach based on a strict set of criteria.. not on mateship.
Rubbish!
Supporters only see what they want to see. Doesn't help if they wear blinkers.

Every club when they lose have supporters who bag everything.
Some love it when we lose.
Some genuinely are just frustrated.
But whatever, it's just social media and as strong as some are on here it may not remotely correlate to what the real decision makers (ie Ed) really are going to do.

Personally I think Ed's time is done, but if he's there I still want us to succeed.

And I'm with you, I'd sign Nathan for another two years (ducks proudly) we finish what we started.

Oh, and if nothing else, the melts on here would be something else.

Like last weeks amazing victory against the Sydney reserves? Hmmm nah no point. Ive posted when we won before in the hope we turned the corner and Buckley deserved credit but it was a false hope. He cant coach or manage the players and the sooner he is gone the better.

I don't remember you posting anything positive about Buckley but am happy to take your world for it. Just seems like you bob up after loses.

If he/she has doubt it was complimentary.

I laughed because knew he/she would show up in this thread. Have you ever thought some supposed Collingwood supporters may not actually barrack for Collingwood in the real world?

This was back in 2014. Listen from the 35.00 minute mark.

It's not just supporter expectations that haven't been met going by this.

I have considered that but in the case of Krueger I am sure he is black and white. In fact I believe him to be a Legends member. The sad truth is that he has been right about Buckley, just hurts that he tends to only post after loses.

Gee judging by most of the comments tonight I may just have enough posters to play poker with when we re-sign Buckley.:p

Might as well then make Bucks Coach for Life Then:rolleyes::straining:

I actually think your a club employee paid to poison the minds of fellow supporters in the hope they dont see light at the end of the tunnel or just an opposition supporter completely taking the piss out of everyone here....you spend all day every day here waffling on about anything and everything.

Clearly expectations have not been met. We all know this without listening to an interview from years ago.

Very difficult to judge Eddie harshly IMO, but i agree with you he did mix business and friendships, but you can guarantee he thought it was the right decision, not just based on friendship but unfortunately in hindsight he will realise it has been a mistake.

He probably thought he was on a roll from a premiership year.

I personally think history will judge him as the greatest Collingwood president ever albeit he moved from Victoria Park, but the positives have far outweighed the negatives.

No, the decision may have been right but it was poorly executed and all good plans need flexibility and an ability to adapt to changed circumstances. You can't be half pregnant and that is what the succession plan was, it was a weak attempt to compromise when strong leadership was required. Either Mick stayed or he went, no in betweens, that was bad enough but when he flagged it was ludicrous not to allow him to coach this list until it was spent.

Buckley would have taken over a list, rebuilt it, been more experienced and had no expectations on him. Instead here we are today, a broken, beaten up rabble club with no spirit and no heart.

There is a reason McGuire failed as CEO of Channel 9, he was out of his depth and he is out of his depth now. And don't get me started on Gary Pert who s only there because of McGuire's stuff up at 9.

Did you even bother to listen?

When the senior coach of a football side is offering absolutes like "We'll be better next year and the year after and contending in the next 3-5 years" when we massively fail to do so then clearly something has gone badly wrong with his plans and questions need to be answered.

Why hasn't the improvement happened?

What has gone wrong?

Have I failed?

All are very legitimate questions in light of how we're tracking. Buckley, Pert et al all deserve to be under increased scrutiny for the constant failure to meet their own public expectations as has occurred the past 4 seasons.
