So you think Breust's height is his number one assett and not his footy smarts?

And I might add Rowe's agility and evasion are right up there with the best small forwards playing the game.
No, i'm just saying that Rowe being much smaller than Bruest yet being slower doesn't exactly fill me with confidence he has any physical attributes that would lead to him being an afl level small forward

If Rowe can get enough of a tank to become effective all game and not for small patches and can get to the tackle - he is only on his second AFL preseason so there is still time, then he most certainly is a crafty footy player and he generally gets to the right spots at the feet of the big forwards AND knows where the goals are. 100% there is a place there for his skillset - he just needs to make every post a winner

i'm not saying it's impossible, I love his enthusiasm and i'm sure he'll try his hardest to get his body to the point where it needs to be.

Adelaide leadership group member Tom Doedee suffered a concussion on Wednesday and can’t engage in contact training for at least 12 days.
Doedee suffered the concussion in the early stages of match simulations at West Lakes on Wednesday.

Seedsman suffered a concussion prior to Christmas and is still feeling the effects of it.

He has returned to running at Crows training sessions but has to wear sunglasses while outside.

McAdam has been able to take part in training drills.

Sorry for the intrusion, but if you want a taste of your new fitness guru try and stomach watching a video about my club post our 2019 17th finish when Burgo just came on board.

It's called To Hell and Back. It's on youtube and Burgo features prominently, along with internal stuff all things the MFC which may not interest you. Episode 3 in particular is a cracker.

It will give you an insight into your club's current preseason. Here's episode 1 as a reference point. Even though it's about another club I think you'd enjoy this 5 part series.

Caleb Daniel does not have explosive pace.

He tested rather high for it. 2.99 for 20 meter dash in his draft year (top 10 was 2.95). He also finished top 3 of all time in the beep test to show that he has an elite physical trait to help him overcome his height deficiency.

So once again in the context of the discussion and back to my original question - What elite trait does James Rowe have to overcome his height?

Just finished watching the entire series, extremely interesting stuff. If anyone is interested in how Burgo operates Trav wasn't lying it certainly gives some insight. I'm even more excited about what he can do for us now.

Absolutely no intrusion. Appreciate the post.

How did Crouch look. It feels like there is a lot of contrasting information coming out. I know the club finally did a positive piece on him - which would suggest that they are confident in his progress.

ROB said he looked great (felt like he was implying back at 100% fitness), others have said they just saw him running laps with the injured players.

I would love to hear that he is moving freely and at full pace? The Hip and Groin injuries are obviously linked and he wasn't lightning fast before the injuries.

There was an article yesterday where Nicks said he's progressing but also that its 2 steps forward and 1 back. My feeling was nowhere near likely for early season. Was surprised to see a positive looking story the same day in here.

And you forgot we got him for nothing, so quite happy to give him some time to get it together.
On all evidence to date, we paid a fair price for him (i.e. nothing).

*** His 2021 season was allegedly impacted by injury, so lets wait & see what he produces in 2022 before writing him off completely. Having said that, I haven't seen anything of him at AFL level (i.e. without going back to his U18 career) which suggests he'll make it at the top level. Not writing him off yet, but not hopeful of him turning things around either.

Agreed. For me, he's in the bonus category. If we get some decent return on him then it's a bonus, but his spot on the list doesn't have a negative impact on the teams push forward.

I don't hold out much how to be fair. I'm expecting Schoenberg & Berry to be selected in front of Hately, with Pedlar the one to jump into midfield selection also.

With Crouch and Milera returning I am not sure there is a spot.

Looks like match sim is 10-11 Fridays also
Sorry this is from memory so not a heap of notes today.

Think we will get footage, was 3 cameras out.

No doedee, Cook, or Rachele.
Rachele lives with Cook so hope it's not a covid thing and obviously doedee has concussion from earlier in the week.

Seed running laps in sunglasses.
Fisher running laps, looks like he's been hitting the gym, looks in good condition.
Murphy running laps, looks to be work hard to get back.

Rehab group looks like a lonely place

Good news! Keays out there today so ankle wasn't to bad, Pedlar and Crouch involved in full training.

One of the early drills midfield three teams rotating through

Laird, Crouch, Schoenberg - yellow
Sloan, Pedlar, Soligo - blue
Hately, Dawson, Keays - white

Not sure if Berry was in there.

ROB and Strachan rotated between team

What I took out of that yellow team was the strongest as you could imagine more experienced. Bit of a synergy happening with the 3 of them. Schoenberg will take another step fwd this year.

Something about Soligo, he's got something.

Hately performed alot better, over head clearance to Dawson. More on Dawson later.

Match Sim

Murray vs Frampton battle
Think Murray is ahead but framptons field kicking is much better. Murray has a booming kick just went out of play few times.

New battle for mid/fwd role - might not be a battle but just seen similar position they could play in the team.

Keays vs Pedlar
Keays kicked 2 long range goals and one point. Looks good again. Then hurt his ankle again late. Walked it off so should be alright. Spent time resting I fwd 50.
Pedlar caught someone holding the ball in fwd 50, think his pace in the fwd half would be good.
Think it's a similar position to keays.

Hamill
His kicking has improved, I don't know if it's just because it's training. In early training drill Hamill kicked beautifully to switch play, to Dawson with neat inside 50. Can't remember who then kicked a goal. He had some really neat switches of play. Winning alot of one on ones.

Jones
Reading the ball well, neat kicking on display. Mopped up few times. Winning one on one's, streaming out of defence. He's a lock in the defence for me. Did turn it over once and wasn't very happy with himself.

Dawson
He kick a beautiful running goal, and one of the players called it Elite. Think that's the best way to describe him. Looks like a very complete player to me and his kicking is obviously his weapon. He took Murray out to sheppard him off the ball at one stage. Murray is a decent lump of a lad and he performed ok in the midfield drill that's something that has suprised me. Imagine hes going to develop inside of his game. At one stage pioted and switched play to the far side with a beautiful kick, I couldn't see the finish but a mark was called. If he can switch play that quickly it's going to be a nightmare of opposition teams to defend.

Hately
Did a few nice things today, on the inside and his kicking looked better today...then lairds lol.
