I thought that was the case. Thanks for the update. Can confirm that Josh has tested positive for Covid. He went home for 4 days and then after he returned, found out his brother was positive. He lives with a host family and Cook.
Good to get it out the way before the seasonCan confirm that Josh has tested positive for Covid. He went home for 4 days and then after he returned, found out his brother was positive. He lives with a host family and Cook.
It'd be impossible to put any sort of timeline on him I imagine, but the way he's been recovering you'd think it's not something that will magically just disappear by Round 1.
View attachment 1321125How is this the body of a first year player?
Impressive!
take no risks whatsoever with that sort of ailment and give him as long as needed to see if he can overcome it. Its about long term healthThat's a bloody early call on a concussion. Really concerning.
Pretty sad after his last season. Shit luck. It'd be impossible to put any sort of timeline on him I imagine, but the way he's been recovering you'd think it's not something that will magically just disappear by Round 1.
Longer it goes the more it feels like he'll be another Sam Shaw.

Find me I'd you ever want to catch up for a pint and a pow-wow about the Crowies
So we effectively got Dawson and Pick 33 for Pick 23 and some rubbish late picks that we didn't want.Dawson
He kick a beautiful running goal, and one of the players called it Elite. Think that's the best way to describe him. Looks like a very complete player to me and his kicking is obviously his weapon. He took Murray out to sheppard him off the ball at one stage. Murray is a decent lump of a lad and he performed ok in the midfield drill that's something that has suprised me. Imagine hes going to develop inside of his game. At one stage pioted and switched play to the far side with a beautiful kick, I couldn't see the finish but a mark was called. If he can switch play that quickly it's going to be a nightmare of opposition teams to defend.

Since the inception of live trading in 2018, our pick trading has been top notch. So we effectively got Dawson and Pick 33 for Pick 23 and some rubbish late picks that we didn't want.
Say what you like about our Recruiting Staff (Gallucci, McAsey etc) but there's nothing wrong with our Maths Department
We got a first round, a second round and a late pick for two second rounds and late picks. So we effectively got Dawson and Pick 33 for Pick 23 and some rubbish late picks that we didn't want.

So what you are saying is, team growth '22, established by '23, contend in '24, Premiership '25!! I'll take thatWent to write this post awhile ago and after going through it doesn't really tell us anything we dont already know, put I'll post it anyway to start some conversation, as in the Luko and rankine thread there's some discussion around the 50 game mark.
I wanted to show where we can possibly expect to see some improvement on our list this year 2022 and the following year 2023.
Its about the games into players in our team. It always gets thrown around that it takes about around 50 games for a player to come on.
This is a little extract from a Matthew Llyod article in the Age from 2014.
Some things that are said during a football journey stick in your mind forever. In one of my first conversations with Kevin Sheedy, he said: "It is not until you reach 50 games that you have really made it as an AFL player."
Sheeds said that it is around this time that you really start to believe that you belong among the players you grew up idolising. It is also a time in your career in which expectations on you start growing, not only from the coaching staff but also the media
The biggest spike in a player’s performance is usually between 50 to 100 games, because you are accustomed to the experiences of match day, you have a greater fitness base and you've had several summers in the gymnasium building your strength
Not a perfect science but I've definitely see it a number of times, Keays and Milera from recent memory.
So with that, here's a list below of games played on our list.
I've marked who I think is in our best 22 or close to it with a star. Could probably just done everyone.
EP Established players for over 45-50 games
SP for Seniors Players over 95-100 games
I've add 22 possible games to there tally. Yes I know its impossible for everyone to get 22 games, just take this as a guide.

Chopped his mullet though?yes he did chop his mullet . Saw him having dinner at Concubine last Saturday with MCHenry, Frampton, Hinge and their ladies.
Struggled big time when teams started to put time into him when they realised the damage he could do by foot if allowed to run around like an unregistered dog. I'm interested to see if he's capable of working through this with the extra attention he will likely keep getting from Oppo teams now they've worked out his influence can be easily curbed.Sholl is the one I am really interested in. Played a couple of really nice games and I think at his best could be a really damaging player.
I’m a huge believer in the 50 game theory. Great breakdown.Went to write this post awhile ago and after going through it doesn't really tell us anything we dont already know, put I'll post it anyway to start some conversation, as in the Luko and rankine thread there's some discussion around the 50 game mark.

Offensively looks damaging, defensively I see issues. I hate players that can't stick a tackle, and he doesn't look great in one on one contest. His form feel off the end of the year, from what is sounds like he over work himself preseason. Nothing he can't develop on this year, and he looked Silky in match sim.Sholl is the one I am really interested in. Played a couple of really nice games and I think at his best could be a really damaging player.
