It was shocking weather against the bottom team and we were coming off 5 losses in a row. It was never going to be a game with highlights.

Fogarty looked the best I’ve seen him live. Tex and McAdam also good up forward. Milera had a few plays that showed his class - he/we need him to have a good run at it. Hately is putting together a solid month of football. Soligo looks a solid player.

I think Matt Crouch is done unless we have injuries. We must get midfield minutes into others.

I would like Thilthorpe to have an extended run in Ruck just to give him some freedom.

Just watched Nicks presser and can someone tell me why the people asking questions (“journalists”) refuse to ask ANYTHING difficult or controversial. Like … your midfield is the same hot mess for all fifty of your games coached, any plans?

We may need to send Credlin in 🤮

I wonder how many of you keyboard warriors have played footy in shit conditions against a shit side who decide to turn it into a rolling maul to avoid a pantsing. I mean yeah, it was a horrible game of footy and the usual suspects stunk it up again, but I'm not sure what result people were actually expecting in that weather.

In the 1st half we saw the good ball movement we've seen this season (Healy mentioned this again so I'm not sure what you guys who continually say there isn't a game plan are watching) but missed easy set shots again in the 2nd quarter so we were only up by 6 goals instead of 8-9 goals after playing very good footy under those slippery condition. In the 3rd quarter Simpson pushed numbers back to stem a possible 10+ goals thrashing and credit to him this worked as understandably no coach wants to hold that record (Williams should have done this after half time in that infamous Grand Final) and in the 4th quarter we were back to our inconsistent worst which has happened all season and expected since we are a young rebuilding team.

club needs a win. club wins game. i mean really are we honestly in a position to have a moan about any win?

Watched first half only:

*Fogarty was good. Showed a bit more agility and one of his better games for awhile.
*Walker, Laird, Smith, Dawson, McAdam all good.
*Thought Parnell was pretty good for a first game. Made a few errors but showed he's a lot more offensive than Brown. I reckon after 20-30 games he should be a valuable contributor on a weekly basis. Just needs a big offseason on the weights.

*Didn't really notice Crouch or Milera.
*Want to see more from Thilthorpe. I was expecting to see a lot more from him by now. Is dropping a lot of marks. Somewhat concerned with his competitiveness.
*Cook needs to play AFL I don't understand what benefit there is playing him in the SANFL. Newchurch likely deserves a chance soon as well. Doesn't get a lot of possessions but he can kick goals.

Career best games for Fog and Murray

Well at least Crouch and Milera are consistent - they were both in the bottom 12 players on the field last week as well.

They don’t want to ask hard or controversial questions otherwise the clubs will probably not provide any information at other times - sort of black banning them.

great first quarter. Shitty conditions. Mixed performances. A win is good. A week off and then a trip to QLD. Some positives - Fog, McAdam, Tex, Soligo, Parnell. Thought big Muz did ok. Big learning curve for him. Doedee and Dawkins solid. Also liked Hinges game. Laird was good. Not sure what’s going on with
Thilthorpe but I think they have to persist. There’s absolutely no point in sending him back to the twos. Crowd was ugly.

That shit side outscored us for the second half, that’s why

you should tell Nixxy, he was a bit annoyed according to an article I read. Not sure what he expected.

makes our point for us following the all time pathetic 'have you ever even played the game' jibe. At least Baccs has the self respect to not even turn up. I wonder if old feenix has a club employee coming onto the show.

Who the **** are the people who asserted that Matt Crouch had a good game. Tell me which footy club you run and I'll sign up and become a club ****ing legend with those standards.

But it's unrealistic and borderline dishonest for people to use his success as a comparison for Riley. They're different players. They entered the system with different development curves ahead of them.

They're both KPFs in the same draft that were available to us - how is it not an apt comparison?

Borderline dishonest... gimmie a break

Most of what you say is true --- WCE are a shit side who used negative margin-saving tactics after half-time, the conditions were wet and slippery, it certainly was " ... a horrible game of footy, and the usual suspects stunk it up again".
Some people are happy with the result; others are not. That's just how it is and how different supporters react.

I'm in the not-happy camp, going back to selection night and watching the mess unfold during the game.
Crouch is totally ineffective and stunk it up again yesterday, hindering the development of players who need midfield time that he wastes thanks to our Coach who cannot see how utterly useless he is.
That in itself is good reason to be unhappy with what's going on, but there are many more reasons and problems as described by other posters, as well as your own good self, above. Does that make you a "keyboard warrior", too?

I can see the positives as well and why others might be happy with them.
Fogarty played a very good first half of footy, as opposed to his usual one quarter.
Soligo is very impressive, ditto Berry.
Hately continues to improve; McAdam is finding consistently good efforts as well, all also mentioned above by others.
Tex --- well, he is just the Tex we know and love.

There are no rules about how we (as supporters) should react to what you yourself described as a horrible game.
People are allowed to comment negatively. It's a FORUM.
Here's what troubles me:
Yesterday's result will not provoke the kinds of selection changes that the Crows need, nor will it force Nicks to make positive changes to his default Crouch/Laird/Keays combo; both remain as huge problems which are hindering the rebuild.

Nah he's right.

We also bemoan our sides forward entries.... Throw LM in our side and see how he goes.

evidence?.. what ******* evidence are you talking about?..

anyone that watched that game today and thought ben and laird had fantastic games is utterly delusional.
Gee the game rankings seem to suggest Laird had a fairly good game didn't they.

Big swing and a miss from you.

Again

Game rankings?..

Wow… no wonder your clueless

I actually watch the games when determining what constitutes a great game from a player..

Instead of relying on the “game rankings” after the game to tell me..

Game rankings will tell you laird had 30+ possessions.. game rankings wont really tell you that 20 or more of them were wasted, ineffective and did little damage to the opposition team..

I'm not sure you do watch, you spend most of your time throwing tantrums and acting petulant.

Run along

Matt Crouch:

18 CBA 1 clearance
1 clearance for the game
2 tackles
12 pressure acts
154 metres gained
7 contested possessions, 20 uncontested

Now for a midfielder such as Crouch, does this game make sense? If he’s not winning clearances and contested possessions whats the point of him? What benefit do his uncontested possessions have?

Let alone his lack of defensive pressure
