West Coast just lost 7 in a row by 50+ points
THIS!

Perspective people please. West Coast are tracking as one of the worse teams we've seen in a decade or more, got beat at home last week by 100+ points.

Take out the first quarter and we probably lose, we lost 3rd and 4th quarters to that rabble who have a percentage of 50!. Forget we won, what were the takes out of today's game?

Good - Soligo looks a find, Hately continues to build, Parnell nice debut, Dawson superb again, Tex is still the reborn Tex.

Our skills are dreadful, Keays rated earlier this week by Champion Data as the worse kick in our side. This is where they measure difficulty, pressure etc, calculate what the AFL average is for those kicks, then measure what the player actually did with the kick. Our "premier" midfielder is the worse kick in the side. BTW, Dawson is our best kick in that ratings chart.

We may have the worse midfield in the league - with little relief in sight. Oh, I forget Turner is coming to save us!

Murphy, Rowe, Crouch, Murray, McHenry, Milera are not and now never will be finals standard players, barely get a game in a top 10 side.

FOG, that's the best he can do, at home, against the worse defence in the league. Just hoping the rumours are true and another team wants him.

ROB, who were the WC rucks again?

Yes it's a win, but doesn't change my mind as to where we are at. Three more games against WC and Norf to come will propel us up the ladder weakening our draft hand. A lot of work to do.

Terrible game.

Nice to see Fog show a few tricks though.
Sog was good.

Watching today I am convinced that Thilthorpe is going to be a Ruck. Doesn't have any real forward craft. But around the ground and Ruck contests is quite good.

Didn't win a lot of taps, but for a second year player in Ruck he was quite good.

Too timid as a forward.

Pick 2 on a ruck? Better hope he turns into Max Gawn.

Absolutely nothing positive to take out of that.
Geez, how much more negative do you want to be?

The first quarter was impressive. Fog showing a lot more. Parnell looked like he belonged. Soligo has class. McAdam and Tex kicking good goals.

It wasn't a win for the ages, but it was a win. And you take that when we are where we are.

Good:
Fog - Best game in years, could've had a bag if our midfield pulled their finger out
McAdam - Similar to Fog, really strong first half and continues his breakout season
Soligo - Will give Rachele a run for best first year player, so reliable in just his 6th game
Tex - Still our best player
Parnell - Showed he can play at AFL level, 14/15 disposals were kicks

Bad:
Fwd 50 entries - We lose that game against any other team in the comp
Crouch - I can't understand why we're persevering with him when we've got Hately and Berry
Rob - returned to his pre dropping form, unacceptable for a club leader
McHenry, Rowe, Murphy - We'd be no worse off playing Rachele, Turner and Newchurch for the rest of the year, and likely would improve

Ugly:
Roo saying we can't move Murray off Darling because we don't have another Kpd playing. This bloke sits on our selection commitee as far as I know, West Coast weren't going to run with 1 key Fwd when they are lacking senior players and yet instead of bringing in Frampton, Worrell, Borlase or McAsey we go in undersized. Seriously.
Good:
Main forwards were on fire: Tex, Fog and McAdams were all fantastic, especially Tex.
Laird and Berry were great.
Hinge, Hately and Soligo were solid.
Parnell looked the goods on debut.

Bad:
McHenry, Rowe and Murphy are all too similar. They play that rotating small forward role, but I would not trust any of them to kick for goal. They are all terrible kicks at goal, whether it's on the run, snap, set shot, etc. Any time they have possession, I just hope that they pass it, because they cannot kick. Defensive small forwards that cannot kick goals... is there a role for them? Possibly, but not for three of them at the same time. What is Newchurch's defensive pressure like? Is that what's holding him back? I'd probably keep McHenry in and drop the other two.

ROB was up against two no-namers and probably only broke even.

I question Milera's position in the team. His kicking for goal is under 50/50 at best. I feel he'd be better off anywhere else away from goals.

Thilthorpe :(

Ugly:
Crouch and O'Brien being listed in Crows best ??? Do the writers of these articles even watch the games.

Pick 2 on a ruck? Better hope he turns into Max Gawn.
Yeah I dunno.

It is costly.

He is a classy footballer. Just not a natural key forward.

IF he was 193cm, you would say we have a genuine elite big bodied mid. His ball skills and positioning are elite.

I'm just realistic

It was obvious at the game we put the cue in rack for the second half.

Disappointing as we far from good enough to do that.

Should have pressed them all game.

And less CBAs for Crouch.

The wet does mean the score will be much closer though but we did start the down trend after kick 4.4 in the 2nd quarter and with some very easy set shots and then totally stopped in the half like the players switched their mind to the mid season break.

Tex, Fog, and McAdam looked great

Did Hately even have one CBA today? Looked like he was stuck on the wing for the entire match

Shocking that both Hately and Dawson are forced out of ideal position when they are 2 of our most promising players moving forward
Dawson is not one "of our most promising players moving forward", he is right now our best player by some distance. An amazing steal!

If you honestly think that was a good win enjoy another 20 years without a flag
Definitely wasn’t a good win , we are ordinary

But people that angry as if they’re owed something or think that getting angry will change results is a LOL

So funny

At times like this all you can do is take individual positives then hope for better days

Fog
Soligo
Hamill
Hately
Berry
Parnell
McAdam ( ok he’s not youth though 6

Giving me some sort of good feeling

Still need 3 drafts and a couple of FA to be easier to watch . The Soligo and Rachele draft ( with Taylor and maybe nanverkis ) looks an improvement

Thilthorpe needs a forward / ruck partner for long term as doubt he’s a permanent key forward . He’s still tracking ok though

Some young guys looking good
Soligo getting better with every game
Hopefully Parnell gets another game

Seriously, it's time we started putting a line through a few names of constant underperformers

Selection and the positions the coaches are putting players in is terrible
The coaches need to embrace the rebuild and start playing players that will get us there

So, inconsistent performance from a young rebuild team just like our performance from the last month against teams who are in the top 5. What are you expecting this year from this young rebuild team?

You are right in that last part which includes letting go of players who will never get us there. Frampton, Davis and Himmelberg are in that list. Add in Murphy as well. None of these players should take up a spot in the first team again
