Lot of okays today rather than good.

Soligo - makes good decisions, clean and courageous. Rising Star nom?
Hately - best of our mids, despite the lack of CBAs
Fogarty - excellent first half, there is a very good player in there
Tex
Dawson
McAdam - putting together an excellent run of games
Parnell - solid first game, good to have another decent kick off half back

Bad

Murphy - not sure what he offers. Does one or two good things every game, his other touches are a waste of time
Rowe/McHenry - ran around aimlessly
Thilthorpe - the slightest contact shifts him off the line, unless he can increase his core and arm strength, will never fulfil his potential
Keays - the lack of a right foot is becoming an embarrassment.

Ugly

Coaching - another week where I’m lost as to what our short, medium and long terms plans are. I don’t think the Coaching Group knows either
Crouch - done.

We got a win with a good first half leading into the bye .

We continue to find more players who look likely to have bright futures .

We need not play Crouch or Brown again .

No, I won't have that, we are all so upbeat about how well this rebuild is going, have almost all the
Crouch had 19 of a possible 23 CBAs today for 7 contested possessions and 1 clearance.
vs
Berry had 13 of a possible 23 CBAs today for 13 contested possessions and 8 clearances.
Hately had 1 of a possible 23 CBAs today for 8 contested possessions and 3 clearances.

The reckless short-termism of our match committee instead of investing in the long term growth of the playing list is nothing short of embarrassing, not to mention that even if you're chasing a sugar hit, it's becoming hard to defend Crouch as a more impactful on-baller even in the short term. The kids are okay!

Laird and Keays, despite how maligned they are, as always showed up and had a crack. 17 & 16 CPs, 8 & 5 clearances. Sure, they butcher it, but at least they're winning the ball to give each other a chance to turn it over. In Crouch's case, he's not doing that, he's not defending and he sure as shit isn't the bloke you want getting it on the outside. It's beyond the pale.
The problem is every time crouch gets selected he’s going to have the most CB attendances because he literally can’t play anywhere else on the field

So the only solution is to not play him

He’s also the reason why keays is such a key player as Keays has to bust his arse running to defend to make up for Matt

Matt would be one of the least effective players in the comp right now

Does RT need glasses? Seems to regularly misjudge going for a mark, gets caught under it or to the side too often
He seems to have developed a really bad habit of going for marks one-handed. Tex was doing a similar thing a couple of years ago when he was at his worst. I'm not sure why he's doing it but it needs to stop.

CBAs

O'Brien - 20
Crouch - 19
Laird - 18
Keays - 18

Geezuz farrkin christ that is just disgusting.

How are the fools in our coaches box watching the games this year (and past year to mind you) and thinking..

“We need crouch, laird and keays to lead our midfield and be at the great majority of CB’s”

Are they watching a different game to us?..

Mate 89 possessions between them, they killed it 😆

Interesting that some beat up on Fogarty being better against nothing competition, what does that say for high draft picks who couldn’t find the sherrin
Fogarty is a high draft pick! Not beating up on him, but he's in his 5th season and still only an ordinary SANFL standard player. What would he have done today against a finals standard opponents defence? Sadly much less.

And it's very sad that we have other high picks who aren't much either :-(

Which senior coach won't play their best 2 midfielders there who are still young, especially Keays. Laird has been an AA player while playing in the midfield and Keays will likely be in the AA squad this season. As for Crouch, I assume we are only playing him to get trade value for a contender and will pay his salary next year as a sweetener? We really need to open this midfield spot to continue the rebuild next year and he hasn't shown anything in the SANFL after being drop there for weeks to warrant his return to the AFL. Somewhat understandable last week since Walker was missing so we needed some experience but he should have been dropped again this week since he wasn't that good against Geelong anyway.

Nope

There is a trend here and I'm not thinking its the players.
