Soligo looks an absolute natural.

We now have Hatley, Berry, Soligo and Schoenberg* all looking like bonafide mids.

How long before the club plays them there? Do we have to wait for 50 games?

*assuming he gets his shit together.

crouch, Laird and Keays all have at least 3 years left playing in our midfield. I expect Sloane will return in there when he returns as well.

Our skills are dreadful, Keays rated earlier this week by Champion Data as the worse kick in our side. This is where they measure difficulty, pressure etc, calculate what the AFL average is for those kicks, then measure what the player actually did with the kick. Our "premier" midfielder is the worse kick in the side. BTW, Dawson is our best kick in that ratings chart.
Got a link, please?
Where does Crouch rank in that?

Better let the coach know we are in a rebuild

Because he doesnt have the courage to let anybody else but his ' crew' in the middle.

the rebuild has been completed for ages. We've not sacrificed a single goal of expected performance in order to develop a future contending side. We've got a group that we believe can make the 8 abd anything can then happen. I'll never understand why people thought our version of a rebuild would be any different to our contending philosophy.

Matt Crouch honestly ****ing sucks. Can't get rid of him soon enough. The amount of times he has runners/loose players on, and elects to kick long to a disadvantaged forward or straight to their loose man is honestly baffling.

Don't even bother trading him to Geelong, just put him in the bin for all I care.

It wasn't a win for the ages, but it was a win. And you take that when we are where we are.
I love when the Crows win  --- except today.

That was the first time I can remember wishing we had lost a game, because
--- it might just have shaken Nicks awake that the Crouch/Laird/Keays preference is just not working, and
--- forced Nicks et al to rethink what they've been doing.
But, no.
Instead, Crouch will stay and be preferred over Berry and Hately which is just flipping-nuts. And Murphy and Milera (who are not goal-kicking forwards) will stay. And O'Brien (our Club Champion ruckman and Leader who has taken only one game to lapse back into mediocrity against the worst side in the Comp).
And Nicks and his band of Merry Men will continue to do what they've been doing, while expecting things to change for the better.

Which senior coach won't play their best 2 midfielders there who are still young, especially Keays. Laird has been an AA player while playing in the midfield and Keays will likely be in the AA squad this season. As for Crouch, I assume we are only playing him to get trade value for a contender and will pay his salary next year as a sweetener? We really need to open this midfield spot to continue the rebuild next year and he hasn't shown anything in the SANFL after being drop there for weeks to warrant his return to the AFL. Somewhat understandable last week since Walker was missing so we needed some experience but he should have been dropped again this week since he wasn't that good against Geelong anyway.

you sure Laird has been AA whilst playing midfield? I don't think that's right.

He was named as a AA defender in 2018 but I recall Lloyd naming him in the midfield with those weekly AA list he used to do and saying what a versatile player Laird was after being an AA defender and now showing he can play in the midfield.

you were just plain wrong, like with just about everything else.

I can’t get over the fact we gave Hately one CBA. One

He did well on the wing, don’t get me wrong, but we really should be giving him time as an inside player. But noooo, Matt just has to get a game
Added to that Hately played an excellent game and had more influence on the game playing out of position than Crouch who was in the only position he realistically can play

Hately got that clearance for the 1 CBA he attended too

What a waste of time this site has become, predominatly dominated by the most negative , misersable bunch of campaigners I have ever come across.
You just don't get it. You don't; nor do others like you who cannot see that today's result does the Crows no good, whatsoever.
(A win of 10+ goals was on the cards after the first 1/4 and they blew it).

The Crows just beat the crappiest team in the League on the back of ONE quarter of footy, after which both teams scored 8.8.
Mate, they outscored us after half time!!

The win enables Nicks et al to keep doing what they've been doing <== and is that what you really want?
Seriously?
I do not.

hahahaha.. so.. so far 17 Ben Keays apologists have voted above to say he had a good game!.

GOOD GAME!!!… f@&K me.. if thats a good game from Benny I’d hate to see a bad one..

what exactly was good about?.. his missed/broken tackles?, his pointless handballs?, his kicks to no one?.. oh, wait, maybe it was that time he got the ball, broke free from the contest ran towards the forward 50 and then proceeded, under no pressure at all, to miss kick the ball along the ground to absolutely no one!.

he’s not AFL standard. and his two amigo’s Rory and Matt are no better.

it hilarious some still either can’t see this or are that deluded they think if they continue to ignore it.. its all gonna magically dissapear.

It's hilarious you keep banging that drum despite enough evidence to the contrary to have you committed.

Laird too, he was fantastic.

Crouch..... Rubbish.
