Good

Winning $150
Bernard's 3 goals and David Mackays 2
Jerka run and dash and then goal, plus his round the corner goal.

Bad
Tex didn't play.

Ugly
That big dude in the crows shirt on the TV.

Haha poor guy. I bet he posts here.....

Just created an account to say this - WHAT A GAME TO WATCH! I haven't seen the boys play for many years and I'm glad tonight was the game I finally decided to get off my fat Melbourne ass.

Really interested to see how next week's game unravels.
Do we have a winner?

Apart from the obvious stars I want to acknowledge Rick henderson. Thought he was very good when heat was on. Has developed into a very useful defender.

Also that marauding pack of f50 junkyard dogs- petrenko , wright, johncock and callinan. They Chase, harass, tackle and generally make life miserable for defenders. Brilliant.

The great
Man I love superlatives. Even better when they come from far and wide, high and low and even though we mostly still wont be very recognised in victoria yet, there's definitely enough superlatives going around about the crows to keep me happy.

The commentators and a number of carlton supporters seem to be saying they played like crap. I dont see it though. Up until half time they were giving everything and they werent exactly poor after half time. The only thing I thought they were doing really poorly was shots and set ups when they had it in the forward 50, they were taking pings from the boundary instead of centring it.

The good
Plenty of improvement still left in us. Players like Jaensch and Henderson will get better body on body in the backline, Callinan will still be adjusting (he's up to 13 goals by the way. Porps is slowly working his way back.

The bad
Some of our best players make our others look ordinary. Look at how Jenkins, Hendo, Smith or even Jaensch approach a ground ball contest and what they do at it and compare to thompson, danger, sloane, vb, dogga etc bit of a gap. I guess its another thing for the improvement books.

Go crows.

He's more than useful one on one. However with Talia and to a lessor extent Rutten barely capable of mustering a few possessions between them, he needs to continue to get a lot of the ball and set up some run from defence.

At one stage there it was Tip, Porps, Callinan, Johncock, Pets and Wright in our forward line, and Tip didn't have a goal.

Was at the game and the guy was certainly pumped! Probably is a poster:confused:
Would he be able to post? You can't just mash the keyboard with your palm and hope to make sense. Unless he has a special dialing wand?

The good - squibbed on putting $20 on us at 30/1 to win by 10 goals plus... Put it on us by 25+ instead :)

I just put $100 on us at 8/1.

The bad - last week we were 16/1.

The ugly... Week before we were 32/1.

And VB isn't flashy like Sloane or Danger, but he's gone up another notch this year; his games over the last month have been absolutely crucial to our wins.

Truck was great.

Smith needs a spell - out for Douglas; no knock on Brodie, just looks knackered.

Interesting hearing Dangers comments after the game how Sando has brought an attacking game plan, mindset being very relaxed, not overawed.

Also interesting hearing Bruce during the call crediting Bickley for moving Danger into the midfield.

Interesting I was just thinking that Porps is slowly getting better with each game. I will agree with you re smith he had a few errors today maybe needs a couple of maybe replace him with Shaw across half back

Porps only played 10 minutes of AFL footy last year, so he virtually hadn't played a game since August 2010. That's a long lay-off and IMO he's gradually improving week by week.

Some of his touches today were very classy at important times. He's not far off getting back to being an important contributor to the team again IMO.

Smith is a bit more vulnerable because of the position he plays, but he has been asked to do a couple of big close-checking jobs in recent weeks and IMO has made a pretty reasonable fist of it.
