I love the use of veterans that weren't going to be offered new contracts and players not in the B22 as justification that they gave them away for unders / nothing.

Trading delisted players for late picks is now doing a favour.

Love this fallacy based on nothing. Here’s a few similar situations Geelong have help facilitate this decade.
Sanderson to coach Adelaide (in middle of 2011 finals series)
Mumford to chase big contract
Christensen to get out of Geelong and his issues
Caddy to chase contract and opportunities
McCarthy for fresh start
As well as trading Pods, Stevie J, Chappy and others for nicks to help them get where they wanted straight away.
Throw in agreeing to essentially forfeit against Adelaide after their coach was killed, and I’d say Geelong’s track record isn’t too bad.
For the record, can you pull up anyone linked to the AFL saying Geelong have been difficult to deal with?

While you are at it add Nathan Vardy (traded for pick 72) as well.
Here are recent public comments that have informed my opinion that your club is full of grubs;Love this fallacy based on nothing. Here’s a few similar situations Geelong have help facilitate this decade.

I think it would be more of a challenge to find a team who didn't trade a player they were going to delist anyway for a junk pick (regardless of whether that pick is used or not). Can't think of one situation where that has happened. You realize if you trade them they can go there straight away yeah? Geelong traded most for picks they didn’t use to get them there.
Christensen and Caddy were definitely best 22, Mumford would have been but cats couldn’t pay him what the swans offered.
You guys allow Mitchell to leave a year early and claim to be Mother Theresa ?
To be fair most of that is Chris Scott. He's been very emotional about this for a while, but I don't think (certainly hope not) that he speaks for the GFC in regards to their trade strategy.Here are recent public comments that have informed my opinion that your club is full of grubs;
- Chris Scott comments after PF "fight tooth and nail to keep him" - even though his trade request was based on needs of his family
- Chris Scott comments on 360, sarcastically stating that it would take 4 first rounders and Dusty Martin and stating "I don't see how a trade gets done"
- Chris Scott publicly talking about inner workings of why last year did not get done (to be taken with a grain of salt as you can't believe a word he says).
- Allegedly leaking Tim Kelly's trade request in advance of GFC B&F before Tim Kelly wanted it public knowledge (in an effort to shape the media narrative)
- Constant remarks from Wells about how "West Coast is a fierce rival and that needs to be considered
- Stephen Wells on Trade Radio admitting that there are people inside Geelong Football Club, specifically stating that he should not be traded to West Coast due to us being in contention for another flag. Completely disregarding that he nominated West Coast in his trade request.
- Geelong Football Club intentionally misrepresenting Tim Kelly's trade request as a request back to WA. It was, and remains a trade request to West Coast
- Stephen Wells stating that he would be in conversation with the Dockers in relation to Tim Kelly' trade request, and using them as a stalking horse although Kelly has stated that his trade request is to West Coast, not Fremantle.
What are your thoughts about the above public comments from officials at Geelong football club as it relates to Tim Kelly's trade request to the West Coast Eagles?
Do you believe that the above comments undermine professional relationships between the two clubs?
More broadly, do you believe that the above comments and actions are in line precedents set in other trade requests?
I actually can't believe you are claiming to be good guys for the fact that YOU got compensated for a player YOU were delisting anyway. You realize if you trade them they can go there straight away yeah? Geelong traded most for picks they didn’t use to get them there.
Christensen and Caddy were definitely best 22, Mumford would have been but cats couldn’t pay him what the swans offered.

Had a couple of distractions away from the club iirc. To the point where is partner (gf/wife) demanded he move away from those distractions.Christensen was not best 22 in 2014 - played only 8 games. Maybe he was injured, may be he was out of form. Either way you got pick 21 for him - does n't look like charity to me.

Shock horror, a coach wants to hang on to a player who has finished top 5 in the brownlow and AA in his second year.
Also not sure if you listened to the Wells interview where he stated there were people who were keen to hang on to Kelly in the slightest hope that he changes his mind and resigns with the cats.
Kelly has stated numerous times that he loves Geelong (the FC) and in his perfect world he could move the club to Perth, so must be doing a lot right.
Also, it’s a negotiation. Geelong’s not going to come out and say they’ll take whatever the eagles offer, and I doubt the eagles are going to offer up their absolute best to begin with either.
Geelong will want A, Eagles will want to give C and ultimately it will be done for B. Regardless the eagles will get an A grader for the next 6-8 years while we could get a Cripps and Bont with the pics, or a Lang and Smedts .
Provide quotes that say you are easy to deal withHold on, old mate earlier used an example that the eagles allowed Mitchell to leave a year early as an example as to the hawks now ‘owing you one’, but Sanderson being allowed to leave in the midst of a finals series is nothing?
Still waiting for anyone to provide quotes of anyone being negative towards Geelong’s professionalism regarding trading too...

The “Gray brothers” aren’t brothers.I don't get it.
I actually can't believe you are claiming to be good guys for the fact that YOU got compensated for a player YOU were delisting anyway.
You're claiming that as some sort of favour?
Are you listening to yourself?
He was injured, but a 21-22 yo premiership player. Wanted to get to Brisbane as his dad was there so it got done no hassles.
Another example of Geelong doing the right thing, despite the ongoing dialogue that we are difficult to deal with.
Lol, wow. You still don't get it.You think we used the pick 88 or whatever we got for Chappy?
Just makes it easier for the player and the club he’s going to, so that everyone can move forward.
Again, this was just one example of a number and no one has provided a quote of anyone stating the cats are tough to deal with... funny that
