  • Strong suggestion that unless another club is involved the final deal will be 14 + 2019 2nd + 2020 2nd in exchange for T.Kelly + 55 + 2020 3rd.
  • The Hawthorn pick 11 trade for 24 and 33 (as earlier posted here by @WillieNillie) made a lot of rounds yesterday - albeit with a 2020 swap of second and third round picks. Nothing further about it today, which suggests it was on previously then it has cooled now.

Here's hoping we get Kelly, then make some further trades to get the Hawthorn deal done separately. Really want us to pick up one of the WA midfielders this year. Plus...imagine the melts!

Papely is struggling with mental health with family and girlfriend in Melbourne. So compassionate grounds wants a trade whilst in contract.

But that's ok. It's weakening the Swans to strengthen the Blues. Vic media all happy with this one.

Using mental health because ur girlfriend lives in another state is a slap in the face for those tho have genuine mental health issues.

Same goes for brad hill tbh.

I think most people have said something like this years 1st and next years 1st for Kelly + maybe a later pick coming back is fair.
Personally I'd go as high as this years 1st and next years 1st straight up for Kelly and I think that's still a reasonably fair trade.
But when all you hear back from 90% of Geelong fans is herp derp Gaff + a 1st rounder as a starting point the conversation tends to break down.
This plus the Cockie with one leg.

What are our thoughts regarding SPP and Acres?

Personally I'd prefer Acres - more skilled and versatile. Given that we have plenty of senior mids taking up centre square time, I think we should be looking at picking up someone who can play a role on a HFF/Wing/HBF while offering a midfield rotation. Acres can do that. I think he has a lot of unrealised potential due to mismanagement and injuries. I also imagine that St Kilda will be more motivated sellers than Port, given their need to acquire picks for their various trade targets. Pick 33 could get it done for Acres, but I doubt it is enough for SPP.

SPP is younger and would offer a point of difference with his aggression, but I think he'd struggle to fit into our game plan because of his poor skills. He's wasteful in front of goal, kicking 10.18 this past season, and gives away two frees for every one he is awarded. There are also the reported off-field issues.

So you're essentially only handing over Pick 20 and 22 from last year, without the extra 2nd rounder...a year after he becomes AA and finishes Top 5 in the Brownlow? Rates Kelly at 1711 DVI points on the academy scale. That's far, far less than last year, where the 3 second round picks we were offered = 2299 DVI points. So we're essentially only getting Pick 20 and 22 last year by that logic. And you believe this information? This is despite the fact that even Dangerfield netted Pick 9, 28 and a fringe player, and a less skilled (uncontracted) player in Treloar netted Pick 7 and a Future 1st with 27 coming back (14-18 for arguments sake instead of the 7 they ended up with).

I guarantee your club will be looked upon in a bad light if they pull that sort of move. You guys say all this stuff about us, but that would be an abject joke if you offered up that for a top shelf elite mid, who was AA, Top 5 in the Brownlow and 2 x Runner up B + F in his first 2 years. You'd be essentially viewed as using his autistic children to prise him away from the club that drafted him, without providing adequate compensation comparable with previous similar high-profile trades - Dangerfield, Neale, Treloar, Lever, Gibbs, Hogan, Shiel etc. Also looks like you're again playing with Kelly's future and not rating him, by playing games and offering significant unders. Won't look good if he ends up at Freo or has to take a chance on the draft, if you're not willing to deal fairly. We rate him as a Top 10 pick and a 1st and you guys rate him as a couple of 2nd rounders...don't think Kelly would take too kindly to that either.

Also, before you all pile in and say 'what about Jack Steven'...it's been heavily insinuated that we're not actually interested in him at all now, given risk/reward factor. I think there's too many issues there. I hope he stays with St Kilda, as it's best for all.
You haven't factored in the unconcontracted discount

I didn’t find it offensive. I found your statements to me on your board offensive. Plus your Bay 13 style comments about the Eagles in general.

But I’m required to be respectful over there so I’m endeavoring to respond to posters with the respect they deserve. Which is why you’ll notice I’ve stopped replying to you altogether.
Ive stopped replying to you over there as doing so would require me to muster up a level of respect that I just can’t manage. I.e. any more than zero.
I thought that was obvious in the post but I forgot who I was dealing with and used words that were multi-syllable and not spelt phonetically.
So you continue to address posts to me, even though you are ignoring me
continue on,

by the way the only pressing the insults is yourself, so have a hard look within
Look I've made quite clear (I thought, even allowing for the audience) the conditions under which I'm going to respond to you:
- I'm not doing it over there because I'm required to be respectful to you and that's frankly impossible for me;
- I'm doing it here because you're choosing to post here, and since you're an unbearable campaigner to me over there you're getting the same treatment here.

Feel free to take a similar stance. Or, you know, just leave smartarse messages on my wall.

Amazing that after being told three times I'm not going to respond to his trolling on his own board, he continues to try to engage me on his own board. This lack of basic comprehension is getting to the stage that some educational experts should be getting involved.

Thanks for listening to the podcast though champ, always nice to get the listener numbers up :thumbsu: Some would say it's getting a little obsessive but hey, you do you.

Miguel, why are you still on the Geelong board trying to engage with them in any meaningful way...

...They called you the cheap Mexican version of Scotland

I dont mind SPP because if the Mids are still getting smashed in loose ball gets and contested ball I don't mind unleashing SPP and giving up a bit of class and polish to win the pill and feed the likes of Gaff etc

I haven’t been over the the Geelong board in days, I’m saving my load for when we finally grab him. Let me just say though that of the great man himself, one of our most tolerant as a matter of fact is telling Geelong posters to now fu** off then they truly have run feral over there.

I really hope we get Kelly and fu** them over in the Process. I shall rip out the multiple vpn’s I have access to at work at bombard the s**t out of their page for a week straight. I might even take a week off work so I can truly dedicate myself to the cause and test the competence of their mods.

Can....not.....wait.

Oh and as for the trade?

Offer them this years first and next years first. If that’s not enough then fu** them.

Tell Kelly to categorically state publicly there is no chance he ever goes backs to Geelong and privately tell Fremantle that the only way he gets to them is if they draft him and it will be only for one year and he might suddenly find himself deeply depressed by it all and need time away from football...just like McCarthy.....ask a few boys at the club if they don’t mind us moving a few dollars around on their contracts and then tell Tim to nominate for draft... One year. 2 Million.

Let’s see what they do then. We prefer to play nice and keep relationships intact and all our news private but if they really want to force our hand we will push back.
I just want a fair trade - don't care about the "gloating" after the event which means Geelong more than likely will get slightly "unders" as to what they would have liked and we will probably pay a bit "overs" to what we would have liked. Just get the deal done and then it's over and then I won't have to read all these Geelong supporters pontificating as to why he should choose Freo and not WCE.

With a 2nd coming back with treloar !
They seem to forget or purposely omit this very regularly. What it would take for the cats to upgrade from 36 to 28 would only be slightly less than us to get to 9 or 10 from 14.

So 14 + 2019 r1 for TK + 36 isn't all that far from the Treloar trade (Maybe an extra 3rd round pick or so).

What else am I going to do, go outside and attempt to have some version of a real life? Come on now.

I made a comment of his dual personality over there. He tries his best to act 'polite' on here, then on his board makes an effort to be an absolute campaigner.

My comment was deleted by their mods in a matter of seconds.

It wouldn’t ruffle nearly as many feathers. We’re a threat, they’re not, it’s that simple.

Nobody cared that Tom Mitchell bailed on Sydney, people only got annoyed because he was going to the threepeat era Hawthorn team.
The same thing happened when the O'Meara trade was done. GC obviously didn't want to lose him, but particularly didn't want him going to the Hawks for obvious reasons. A deal was eventually done albeit at the end of the trade period. GC were being difficult very similar as to how Geelong are behaving now!

Agreed. If we can fit him in salary cap wise and trade wise would love him on our list. Explosive mid/fwd with some deficiencies in his game, but also plenty to work with. Most of the best players in the league (Martin, danger, fyfe) are all around average kicks, not above average (in front of goal that does change though which does make them elite). SPP seems to have the depth of kick also that is so damaging. Could end up somewhat similar to Yeo with a bit of luck and hard work.

I think Mahlepi is a girl.

You probably shouldn't warn them of your plans in advance if you are trying to do it secretly.

Just saying.

Any idea what kind of contract he would be looking for?
