I personally think they've been planning this and have sounded out people already, got their ducks in a line, waited for finals of some clubs to finish and then start dropping the dominos. I've got no idea where this will go but it's got the feel of a clean, quick cut followed by a series of announcements.
Re Crackdermott on this. This is a bloke that chuckles about his playing group seeing off Cornes and very proud of his player led revolt against Shaw. The bloke talks and makes a stand before he thinks, then spends hours and days trying to validate it.
Sando has been unlucky in his time at Adelaide and partly burnt by Trigg and others. This smells of the last vestiges of Triggs ****ups.

For the betterment and future of the AFC, I think Bassett has the runs on the board.

Apparently he coached Norwood like how an AFL coach would, not sure what that means, but I did hear this in the past.

He transformed the entire set up to what it is now. His legacy is the current organization. It speaks for itself.

I just feel it's a big call to make 2 weeks out from trade period

I think it's critical to have a coach in place before trade period starts, if I was a potential recruit would I sign without knowing who is my coach, the risk is No.....

The club needs to run an accelerated process and maybe that started before Sando was sacked

It will be interesting to see if they announce an interview panel. Last time they brought in an experienced coach in Matthews. If they don't do something similar this time, you would have to say they already have a short list.

I reckon all the ducks were well and truly in a row before this announcement was made. It is likely that we have spoken to a number of people after getting signed confidentiality agreements. We will get an experienced AFL coach and not a rookie. The announcement of our new coach won't be made until after the Grand Final.
That last is me looking into my crystal ball.

Interesting this happens as D's offer Goodwin a long term role.

Did we think he would hang around at Ess for a year or 2 more, but have been forced to grab him now ?
