Franklin winning the Coleman for Sydney.
New AFL chairman, Gil McLachlan, was born in Adelaide.

Not a good year for the Vics. Clarko to Adelaide would top it off. The power in the AFL is changing again.

Who was the AFL CEO in 97 and 98? Another Adelaide boy.

So Ratten with Bassett as Snr Assistant is my pick. Different ideas from different clubs and Ratten looking to prove a point.

What'd he say?
he'll be on soon and we'll find out. last year he wasn't happy when being asked about it with regards to WCE. VERY definitive to say the least. so in an hour or so we should have a pretty good idea of if he's coming I would reckon. he'll shoot it down in flames or avoid it. lets hope he avoids it. :)

I hope he does come out and say it's complete bollocks. Would rather it removed as a possibility rather than drawn out.

If he says "I'm not commenting" or "I've got a GF to focus on" and doesn't refute it then it's interesting.
He completely refuted the WC rumour last year, so if he doesn't just do that again, this rumour will gain huge momentum

I reckon when Rowie was banging through the names that it wouldn't be after Caro's segment, he did the Woosha - won't be him, Vossy - wont be him etc, and also included "Ratten - wont be him" in that list. Might have been his mouth working quicker than his brain (not altogether surprising) and there was nothing in it but he seemed to pull that from nowhere straight after Caro was saying she reckons Ratten's in with a chance not 5 mins earlier

Oh so there's still hope, I thought he had refuted it completely.

The games more important, if they ask him re coach next yr it be f##ing rude!

If we hadn't lost Roo to parvovirus and Hentschel with a ripped off knee we arguably would have played in a grand final

The 2006 pre-season was when I started to questioned Neil C's coaching ability. Who could ever forget the Luke Jericho game against Geelong when it was clear to all, except the coaches box, that he was completely out of his depth. I was screaming at the TV for him to make the change - he never did and we lost the game. After the game he said something like it was a good lesson for Luke. yeah well mate, it cost us a GF, albeit pre-season.

Then there was A Mcleod who broke down on the eve of finals when it was clear to all he should have been rested earlier. Apparently, the players were begging him to go easy in the lead up to finals and we also suffered pre-finals injuries to M Bode and Burton from memory.

Anyway, i've gotten over it, not bitter or anything.
