Regardless of whether they’d planned one or not - for whatever reason (fan comments - yay people power) or media pressure, or given we didn’t make the finals as they expected, they made the call once we knew for sure - we ARE having an external review. Regardless of parameters set, this is inevitably going to bring shit to the surface. You cannot shove this stuff back in the hole once released. This is going to be some immediate pain.... but hopefully we will be better off in the long run.

How the fu** do you know that’s what it is? Jesus Christ... let it play out.
Jesus Jen. They're clearly doing this ad hoc at the last minute because their hand has been forced.

Ideally you'd like people running the club who are proactive, rather than reactive. Who do things based on an obvious desire to make the club better, rather than waiting until they are forced into action and act primarily based on messaging and damage control.

But how much of the stuff which comes "to the surface" will be made public? If they keep it all in-house, they can continue to pretend that everything is smelling of roses, despite all evidence to the contrary. Do not underestimate the resistance of an echo chamber to hear diversity of opinion!

I would assume Dunstall isn't going near any review that doesn't give him full autonomy to go where he wants to go.
Correct.

If anyone interferes he's likely to belt them.

Pavlich isn't a bad get either. He could've done no more in his career and is respected league wide.

At least we know the players concerns will be front and centre

Dunstall.

Farking lol Roo. Fox Footy mates.
Dunstall was a key person in turning Hawthorn around

Yes Roo's relationship most definitely helped Dunstall get on board but dont confuse that with Dunstall being bias towards the outcome

Dunstall will be independent and strong wih his assessments

Well, I think at least with someone like Dunstall, he won't want to be responsible for a failed review, so if the doors are opened to him, if we don't follow through, we'll eventually find out about it.

So do we give the club the benefit of the doubt and assume Dunstall had to tie up some media obligations/work out arrangements before committing publicly?
Hence, the delay.

Dunstall.

Also the man responsible for resurrecting HAW when it was a basket case ......very astute thinker with CEO experience & of course Footy .....he'll give it straight between the eyes
