You cant go anywhere when you have players holding the club to ransom

- Gordon & Garlick have been asleep at the wheel, letting things build up to this on their watch
- You cant have your so called captain in discussion with another club for the alleged 6 months prior to this happening and take that ******* campaigner seriously
- The board has to stand up to this shit and ask Gordon to stand down.
- The board has to demand that the players responsible go... the club is tainted with this, Griffen cannot be taken seriously
Gordon is banging on about a contract is a contract ! What about Macca's Contract ?

What a joke !!!

He better be bluffing about Griffin staying, because if he isnt, he is a disgrace !

Please share with us your inside information if an opinion is "nonsense"

Well just look at the recent press conference. Macca was a bad communicator. Bad man-manager, the situation with many players was apparently not recoverable.

Young players and old players alike.

Macca got support from some of the older players. But over-all the feelings were so bad.

I have to go back on my previous words because I tended to think that those who cancel their memberships were fickle. when you have a club in a position like ours bent over a barrel by one player it really takes everything out of you.

So, Mattdougie the apology is out there for calling you out on that. I dont know what to feel about this club anymore

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
We are further away now than we have ever been.
For 30 years we have said that cultural change is what we need. Cultural change by definition will always have casualties.
Those in power that don't want things to change. There is a reason we are not a successful club and unfortunately we have reinforced that today.
I will always buy my membership to this club, I will always pay for my kids, parents, wife, nieces & nephews to be members of our club even though none of them have any interest in the Bulldogs but a BIG piece of me has become unbelievably disillusioned with my club and the AFL in general.
I hope that the joy will one day return but today I feel like absolute cr@p.

This.

Could not be further from the truth, obviously.

I think gordon is talking griffen up so we get the most for him

I ****ing hope so... to be out pig shooting during this shows his character. Players like Moz, Roughie, Stringer who went to Gordon last night, stuck around are where the loyalty is

Now that Macca has gone we will find out the extent of the player communication issues and it may not just be the senior players. Try not to pass judgement until we find out from the players the extent of the problem.

For all those saying they will cancel their membership, now the club needs your support. They have mine.

The club has mine too - but geesh, I'm livid.

Unnecessary but appreciated

Wian. Phew!

Ryan Griffen represented his team players at that meeting with Gordon, Grant et al.

Gordon has to stick to the 'Griffen has to honour his contract theme' to try to make Griffen still have currency in the draft trading. If he bags Griffen, or says he isn't coming back we lose draft positions.

Now you know this, so cut out the nonsense.

Apologies, Macca resigned, but he was basically put in a position where he couldn't stay.
I don't really follow what he was like as a coach, he may not have been good enough, but it seems all the blame is set on him.

The administration hired him and they would have done so knowing what his plans were.
Admin set up the environment, coaches coach the players. Everyone involved follows a single plan to try win a premiership.

Things don't work, you try something else, you try a different plan i.e. new coach (easiest thing to do) it's harder to change administration and a crop of players. Maybe if they went by this way there wouldn't be as much uproar.

It's natural for coaches to come and go, but things get personal, they get emotional, Clubs are what people love.

Nobody wants to see infighting.

Hope the dogs get their bite back sooner rather than later.

I'm as pissed off at Griff and the club as everybody else is but we need to step back and realise that they spoke to the players, and there was enough negative feedback for them to believe Macca's position was untenable. I very much doubt that it's a very small number of senior players as we've been led to believe. In that case, it was the right decision - whether we agree that Macca wasn't the man to take us forward or not. At the end of the day the players expressed enough concerns to make Macca think that he could not continue. The board agreed. I don't think we can judge this on the basis of "three or four senior players" as we've been told. There were enough players with legitimate concerns to make this the best course of action.

Yes. Good post.
Gordon made it clear he's a friend and big supporter of Macca's... and I believe him... they've been solid behind him.
I was pleased to hear it was no knee jerk sacking .. they went through process, independent monitoring , canvassing and feedback and made a rational decision.

Macca knew he couldn't go forward with any division and there was too much history now (younger and older players) so he did the honourable thing.

i agree - i really hope he is bluffing.... but lets just see how it pans out !
