YOTC why? It’s hardly that. We have our eye on two players in the top 10 who they think are absolutely fantastic. Freo have indicated they will deal and are removing TK’s issues(note not mentioning anyone else’s issue). I don’t like the idea of just rolling over for a chin rub. We want three picks in the top 30 with one in the top 10 and I dare say it’s top 8 actually. TK to Freo is the only way it happens presently.

They should throw in Abbott and a late pick or even Menegola straight swap for Steven, which is what i'd prefer to do.

Saints want a top 20’s pick. So Wellsy has indicated now unlikely he leaves Moorabbin. Twenties for a guy who only managed seven games is extraordinary I would have thought. Is their precedent for such a player? Clark to us maybe.

I’m trying to be realistic. Freo will offer best case 7 plus 22 - we won’t get 6 plus 7. Unless Kelly has a change of mind then he’s not going there anyway - he’s out of contract so can’t be forced to go there. IF WC can secure a top 10 pick to go with 14 then I just think it’s a reasonable outcome. Not fantastic but reasonable. We still walk away to the draft with 3 picks in the first 18.

Personally i think Menegola is now just a depth player for us as he's very limited in what he can do; good inside player but not much more and I'd rather get games into kids.

Steven would offer something different whereas Menegola could be good for the Saints, hence the proposed straight swap.
