Murmurs are Hawks want Eagles to contribute a fair bit to Barass salary which is why we are pushing real hard for the 2 1st rounders
No idea why Hawks would care about that if they had money for Perryman but missed out but seems they do care ? Maybe they got interest in LDU and Cam Rayner next free agency period or something so are preparing for that

They have a bunch of players who are about to go onto big money in the next few years.
Basically all of their young stars, they need salary cap space to keep them all onboard.

Let’s say Hawks are asking us to contribute 1.5 mill to Barass salary .
Would pick 30 be enough to compensate for that . For 1.5 mill I think we deserve a top 20 pick is all .

That doesn't make sense to me. Not only should they not yet need cap room but trading out a future 1st basically immediately rules you out of any decent names next year unless you lose a good player - see Pies and Port. I don't see any reason behind asking for a big cap contribution if it means losing a future 1st.

Free agents yes, i don't think futures 3 drafts down the track will be valued too high.
They wont be getting A-grade talent but theyll still have opportunities to improve their list. Theyll be able to use that cap space somehow, even if it doesnt show for a couple more years. Being able to frontload an extra few hundred k could be the difference

Players generally stop supporting the club they supported growing up after a few months.
Players rarely end up going to a club they supported as a kid.
Considering Harley told every recruitment team his first choice would be Collingwood, if he could choose where drafted, I'd say if he ever were to return to Vic, it wouldn't be for Geelong.
Collingwood does seem like a much more likely outcome, behind staying at West Coast.
