Who is going to fall over in the goal square and concede goals now?

Good riddance. Obviously had a sook about the captaincy, and to be honest, he was heading towards depth player status.

He couldn't kick, falls over like crazy, slows the play down. Maybe drank a bit of his own bathwater after his first couple of years in the seniors.

The complicated compensation is often referred to as the AFL’s ‘secret herbs and spices’ – but there is a formula that the league this week explained.

It lines up every contract of players aged over 25 for a basic snapshot and sorts it into an order based on a points value rating from 1 to 100.

The age of the player is taken into account, given a departing 25-year old will play for longer than a departing 30-year old.

If a free agent’s deal is in the top five per cent of contracts for that year, the former club will receive a first-round pick directly after its own.

If a deal is in the next 10 per cent of contracts, the compensation would come at the end of the first round. The next 15 per cent result in second-round compensation while those in the bottom 30 per cent result in no compensation.

Was Doedee being paid within the top 15% of our playing list, during the rebuild ? .......very possible

Not sure you are reading that correctly, may need a coffee

Its not the “top 15%” of the crows playing list..

Its the top 15% of the entire comps list..

I am going to miss him more on 5AA than seeing him play.

Missed a few games the last few years and I reckon our backline works better without him. Michalanney, Hinge and Worrell are a pretty good defensive interception unit.

A very good media guy, hope that is his future after Footy.

Have met him a few times over his AFC journey. He really is a good human with a big heart (along with his partner)

I wish him all the best in his next endeavour.

I know right. Have always, not just now because he's going, been screaming at Dooeds to stay on his feet FFS. Forever going to ground unnecessarily.
You mean when he was backing into packs putting his body on the line for his club. When did this myth on the Adelaide board start. Player leaving - invent some BS flaws.

The toughest, most courageous player we have had in a decade and would have been our captain if a once in a generation player in Dawson decided against returning to SA. Led the way for young hard nuts like Murray and Hinge.

His toughness and courage would have been handy if we are intending to make finals at some stage in the next 5 years.

He falls over like a newborn Foal all the time.
No myth there.

No, I meant when he was unnecessarily going to ground and therefore taking himself out if the contest. He did it regularly. Nobody's questioning his courage backing into packs.

Wonder why they wouldn’t have lodged this today?
AFL probably told them they werent allowed to.. gotta spread some of this “news” out to justify having so many days for it to occur.. if it all happened at once crocashit media would have a hissy fit as they couldnt spend days saturating the airways with adds and plugs for car tyres..

So if James Jordan and Matt Flynn are generating end of 2nd round compo surely Tommy will get us end of first start of second round compo!! Especially if Brisbane have offered 5yrs.
Depends on how much per year.
