With all the talk about Tom Lynch now possibly headed to collingwood, I'm staggered as to why we wouldn't completely change tact and look at recruiting a GUN midfielder for the same coin? I'm certainly not keen on paying a mil+ for a forward who's a little injury prone and, let's face it, hasn't set the world on fire at the age of 26. We are really being whacked in clearances this year and a player like Gaff would be a far better option should Lynch go to the filth. I think with balta and moore in the reserves our KPP forward stocks aren't that bad. I can't see who is going to be our next Dusty or Cotchin to be honest.

Just a left field approach I guess.
the knocks on Lynch not having set the world on fire is mired in the fact that he has been playing at the second worst club in the AFLs history for the last 8 years. He has made AA, won 2 b and Fs and all on the back of having a pathetic on ball department, woeful forwards around him and a bunch of kids. Not to mention a set up that is amateurish off-field and you have to think....hmm get him into a team where he gets delivered lace out footy 75-80% of the time, instead of 40%. for all the talk of jeremey cameron being a superstar, swap him and lynch and you would be talking Lynch up a bit more. He is a genuine gun forward who is coming into his peak. There is nothing but upside there.

regarding the next dusty or cotch - Jack Graham, Jack Higgins, Lambert, Conca are a few - plus we don't need to replace those guys for a few years, by that time we will have a few more drafts to get in talented mids. plus we are now a destination club, FAs will look to us. We get whacked in clearances because the game plan doesnt need it to be successful. We have Nank who is not a tap ruckman. Soldo is, but Nank is possibly the 2nd best roaming Ruckman in the comp - behind Grundy.

We need replacements for dusty and cotch to be emerging in 2020 not now. Coz they won’t get a game and will be gone by 2020 , with Clarkey at the helm another batch the equivalent of Higgo Naish ccj Balta and Miller and we will be laughing like fat spiders

I like that.... "Laughing like Fat Spiders"....:D

Did hear we are going pretty hard at Beams. Expecting us to pay slight overs to Brisbane for them to cover a % of his wage. From an ex afl player now part time in the media.

I have been hoping for this ever since it came out that Beams was considering a return to Melbs. Get him and Lynch and we'll fourpeat.

I'd love Mitch Wallis to play for Richmond.
From a doggies mate.Wallis wants 4,Dogs offering 2yrs.Wallis will never leave the dogs. Not about money.(His ol man is loaded, real estate).Club knows he won't leave but they are concerned about his injury history.

And yet if it were his club doing well and taking advantage of free agency he’d be fine with it.

Sick of the hypocrisy of the media and other senior figures in the AFL.
wasnt fagan at the hawks when they got frawley?

Hawthorn also got a sweetheart deal for Brian Lake.

Lake, along with pick 27, was traded to the Hawthorn Football Club at the end of the 2012 season during the trade period, in return for picks 21 and 41.

or as David King said Adelaide Crows Tom Lynch is a far better fit* and the MichaelLewisAaronSorkinMoneyball metric it is no brainer for redhead *ruckchopoutcaveat

TomLynchadelaidecrowsranga to get him out of Adelaide- ~600k*dont know contractual situation and trade/free-agent ramifications
TomLynchgoldcoastsuns 1.2million

ESPRIT__DE__CORPS ????

re:marketing and members... declining marginal benefit. much more important is feedback loop of performance which drives membership and sponsor marketing...
sorry TL;DR

Exactly but the media seem hell bent on pushing the equalization card this year. Crabs.

It’s so weird... we should be the poster child of equalisation. 37 years in the wilderness, 12 years without finals, 16 without a finals win and we were the side with the longest time since our last GF. We got our stars thru the draft and we traded smartly to move up the ladder.

We prove the system works with some good management and a bit of luck.

Ok I’m convinced!!

If there is a player born to be a small forward at the Tigers, it’s Devon Smith. Does anyone know his contract status?

I don’t think Bolton will make it and I think Higgins will move to the middle....so there is a spot for you in the fwd pocket Devon if you want it!

Agreed but had our chance and blew it. No chance.
