That's a lot to give up for an 8 pick upgrade.

Surely we'd rather pay more of his salary and get 20 rather than give up future picks in our rebuilding phase?

Can still look to upgrade 20 to 16 in the Bolton trade too.
Like I said, the options at 12 are better than will be at 20, which will be 22 after compo picks and before bids. Kako bid likely to come between 12 and 22 as well. So it'll be pick 25.

It's getting pick 12 instead of 20, and our future 2nd (which could be first pick of 2nd round; always valuable) & future 3rd.

That's my preference. You have yours.

Lynch, Vlastuin, Broad, Prestia and Nankervis are all untradebale for mine, we are going to need strong leaders for the path we are embarking on and we will get more value out of them being on the list, setting standards, teaching etc than we would by trading them for draft picks especially since the competition wouldn't be handing over blue chip picks for them given their ages
you know who is a. better leader than all of those, Shai Bolton

I'm not saying 20. I'm saying 16 as an upgrade of 20 in Freo deal (in addition to 9 and 10)

I'd probably trade Lynch to Lions for a F1 if he wanted to go.

No no no ! Keep the big fella , we are already loading up on picks & he if he can get on the park will make a huge difference & offer good mentoring to any young forward drafted.

Also, what if Kellaway really comes on in 2025 and we have 0 points to be able to match a bid on him because we've traded our future 2nd and 3rd already?

we do not need his mentoring, we have enough forwards and alternatives that are looking for more opportunity to thrive

If Lynch went to Brisbane Lynch would be showing true leadership, seizing opportunities and aiming high, only live once. He could come back if they booted him out

Freo knows that Bolton is disgruntled and when push comes to shove, a minute before deadline Richmond would accept 9 and 16.

Richmond knows that Freo needs Bolton badly to win a flag, and a minute before deadline would offer up 9 and 10.

So it’s just a matter of not blinking first.

Freo has more to lose (mired in mediocrity and greatly reduced flag chance) than we do (Bolton remains at Richmond) if deal doesn’t get done.

In other words … don’t blink Blair. 9 and 10 will be given, nothing surer.

We are fine either way , pick 9 & 10 or we keep him.

They are the ones who have chased him so it’s more on them in my opinion.

No Kingsley cuddles for you lot
Perryman got a heap of money, not sure of others but it is interesting they keep losing them despite being close to a flag.

is their list structured right? anyway that is their problem and they are getting older

this is another reason we have to hit the draft in the next couple of years, other players will become available and things can turn quickly so if Lynch left it would be a good thing and you know what, if it suited he could come back and win again potentially. Lynch can go but he would be welcome to come back to and never shut out as a Richmond man

He didnt say as opposed to others.

He praised Nathan Broad for being a great Richmond man.

The media can read into that whatever they like, he didn't say anything negative towards anyone leaving the club.

He then shook the hands and handed medals to the invited Liam Baker, Shai Bolton and Daniel Rioli.
Exactly, I’ve just watched all of the presentations and he was very warm and friendly with Baker, Rioli and Bolton. Such a load of nonsense being made out his praise for Broad.
