You aren't going to believe this, but...

Sam McClure thinks "whoever actually believes, in their heart, that Dustin Martin has retired from football for good, is wrong."
I’m not sure who’s having a worse year, Sam McClure or Richmond? How many calls does he want to get wrong lol

Rioli is probably the best/equal best running half back in the competition right now. It’s 7 + 12 and we’ll swing back 33 for draft points. Either that or 7 + 20 + 27 + 34 and we’ll swing GC a late pick or two for draft points.
That’d be a good deal for us. Probably overs but different set of rules when a player is contracted.
Dimma will be all over this one, he wants more silverware, and won’t let a list manager get in his way

He’s why we get 2 x r1 , no other club would pay that and deep down he may feel he owes us for services rendered

In a strong draft 12 and 20 is big overs for Rioli. Eagles are going to get less for Tom Barrass who is a 195cm gun key defender. GC got pick-5 alone for Rankine who was a 22yo pick-2. Swans got pick-15 for a 25yo Jordan Dawson.

Rioli is a very good player. But he’s 28yo start of 2025. If he was uncontracted he’d net us a mid-teens pick in a trade. So 12 and 20 is overs …. I’m not saying we have to accept it, but we need to accept the reality it’s overs.

12 and 20 sliding to around 15 & 25 is very marginal overs for Dan Rioli at best, it is barely more than his value as an uncontracted player. It is such marginal value it should not trigger Richmond to release him. Beyond his great football talent, he is an important figure at the club.

All of our strategy should be(and I think will be) value driven. If releasing a peak aged player provides clear value for us in draft picks, then we should do it. It it does not, then we should not. If we get no clear value offers for Rioli or Bolton, then we keep them, no skin. We can go in a different direction entirely if that is what the value dictates, looking to add mature recruits and free agents to what would not be a bad team if they were all on the park.

Suns should be looking to win a flag. Rioli can very obviously help then to do that, he would be a key acquisition. We can help by paying some of his salary. We need a big return in picks.

I think Dimma only thinks of Dimma.

They’ll still land their academy kids, they are one of the few clubs that can do this deal and not be disadvantaged at the draft.

I’d be sad to see Rioli leave, but we need to be hitting the next 3 drafts hard, and if a deal is on the table that’s too good to refuse, we shouldn’t think twice

I was the first person to ring Sam up after his ridiculous claim on Carlton. He called me an idiot and that I knew nothing about football will be fun ringing up again in w weeks

I want Hartley sacked.

Signing up Mansell, Ryan, Miller and HRS to multi-year deals and now wants Graham also! Its a dud factory he is delivering.
Both Mansell and HRS have shown improvement.

I really can't see why Rayner would come outside of an astronomical pay day?
Big bags of money and returning home to Victoria to one of, if not the biggest clubs in the nation is pretty convincing.

Agree but not enough to warrant multi year contracts. They are probably not getting a game in any other team in the league
Can't say I agree. HRS definitely would and every club needs role players and Mansell as a pressure forward is good on his day, just needs to put it together on a more consistent basis.

A rebuilding team on the bottom of the ladder isnt any other team though

Hardest position on the ground is small forward, combine that with little to no support, Mansell has been fine.

We were taking Durham in the MSD , unfortunately Bumbers had a pick before us
We should’ve hidden him
If we were taking Durham it was because of how well he'd played in our VFL side. We weren't going to draft him out of the ammos ffs.
