Don’t see whatever it is the club sees in garthwaite. Hope to be proven wrong!

I like Garth - as a tall medium defender. Decent skills too, not great, but decent.

Problem is that as a defender he just isn't big enough for the monsters. IMHO he is really competing with Broad for a spot, and Broad is simply better. In a lot fo clubs he'd be a regular defender - 3rd tall.

Yep, he is that size similar to a broad/grimes type but doesn’t have the speed of those guys or the running capacity to play on the small/mid size forwards at this stage.and just can’t play on the genuine kp forwards either. I will give it to him tho from all reports he works his arse off so good luck to him.

Skills? IMO his kicking is pretty bad. Takes to long to get the ball to boot. Also, too small to play on the monsters, too slow imo to play on smalls. Don’t see where he fits in. Hope I am proven wrong tho

Eggy was a category B rookie so technically he doesn’t open up a national or rookie draft spot.
No Egg was a rookie, we upgraded him from cat B.

No real shocks in those announcements.

Egg is nicely skilled, but not the first nicely skilled player to be let down by their inability to handle the heat at the highest level. Looked great when given time and space, not so good when given attention by the opposition.

Garthwaite has been highly rated inside the club for a while due to his ability to control the backline at the VFL level, but at the top level he is still found wanting. A year extension is good list management as it gives us proven cover if injury strikes and also covers if we can't land another young highly rated KPD in the draft.

Miller in a similar boat in terms of being cheap insurance just in case and if it doesn't work out then he departs in 2021 along with Garthwaite when we can hopefully restock the cupboard from a stronger draft pool.

I hadn’t realised that mate, thank you!

I’m still quite confused on which players or sitting on which list but with the five confirmed list changes but two less list spots would I be correct in saying the club has three new list spots available which would go to four assuming Rance doesn’t stay on the list for next season.

Who pays what? Dogs, Pies in messy stand-off over Treloar's $4.5m deal

The Western Bulldogs and Collingwood are yet to agree on who's paying how much of Adam Treloar's five-year deal

Good luck and great contribution to the club,
He will get picked up from another club, In any which way, X fingers

Your boy did better than anyone on this page ever did (except perhaps the mysterious "76 gamer").
You must be proud of him, very few get to play at that level and at a premiership club to boot.
He had a couple of blinders and I reckon there's a good chance he'll get picked up by someone else.

Good luck to him!
