Tarrant is a great pick up and replaces Astbury
i think we are a midfielder short to seriously contend. Cannot rely on Prestia, Cotch Lambo to play all season and the young ones are a bit raw
If we get a solid B+ grader in trade, it frees up cotch to play fwd a bit and perhaps have bursts in the middle

Our midfield young gun is right under our nose … Liam Baker.

he’s a part time mid. He’s brave, but he’s the type we need to be getting the ball to, not winning it

Anyone hear anything about James Harmes? Not sure if BS but hearing we are into him

No idea if we are interested but the demons supporter who was the first to link us to Tarrant said in a seperate post that he wasn't happy with his role at the dee's.

Quality mid yes , still have a few young ones like Dow etc coming through !

Key position forwards we have 2 & that is it ! Huge area of concern at the moment

The young ones we have are borderline role players. Dow could be ok. I just are miles off a star mid with anything on our list.

Paddy Dow

common down

You're kidding, it was dad's army jokes all season. We have the draft hand Geelong gave away, massive difference I know. Fact is 22-27 year olds in their peak win you flags, not 30+ year old, look at GF's this year. Of course you can have a few.

The point is, did anyone think Geelong had made a mistake getting Cameron and Smith when 44-points up and flag favourites 20-minutes into the third quarter of Round 23? Of course not …. It looked like brilliant trading as had them up to their necks for a flag…. Then it went pear shaped. And in hindsight it looks like poor trading as has sacrificed their future.

If we are 44-points up in Round 23 and about to finish on top and Tarrant is holding down CHB, you tell me, success or failure?

28. Roughead.
29. Lewis.
30.
31. Hodge. Hale. Gibson.
32. Mitchell. Burgoyne.
33. Harris.

Hawks won their last flag with an old team.

Geelong made the gf and prelim last two season they are not terrible

I’d be using our first two pics on best mids available the leading sides have put space on us , we need to rejuvenate the midfield with top end talent then go a couple of kpp we can park and develop

I wouldn’t be so sure. Let’s not forget, Demons have barely had an injury all season. It makes a huge difference. Then Port had a full list the last 7-8 games of season - they were average mid-season when missing players. Lions pretty average after losing some starting 22 players. And Dogs have not been injury free, but how many games have their core engine room of Bont, Macrae and Libba missed? I think zero.

I believe we need some luck with injury to contend, but so does every team. No coincidence the Demons and Dogs are basically injury free and made the GF, whilst injury free Port made a PF. Then injury hit Geelong (Stewart, O’Connor, Parfitt) got spanked.

he wouldn’t be a bad get at the right price.
Best position is inside mid but melbourne are stacked with stars inside.
He can also be dangerous forward.

I wouldn’t mind this at all

With Stack, Short, Rioli, Vlastuin, Broad, Grimes and Mansell all able to play small there’s just no need for Baker down back when our midfield needs grunt. Yes, Caleb Daniel plays back but Dogs have 500 quality mids…. we don’t.

With class ball users on the outside in Bolton, Martin, Lambert and Prestia, why not inject Baker into the midfield? He has all the tools and he’s at a perfect level of age and experience to make an impact and solve a gaping hole for us. I’ve got no doubt he can replicate Laird and be a midfield gun.

go for it Dimma

To be fair, before last year, the info was pretty accurate.

Look , it’d be a hard gig . Right or wrong the listening is funny snd most importantly Richmond centric . At the very least it gives an excellent talking piece !

Gee it’s been a while since we could sink our teeth into trade talks and rumour milling it up !

I’m more concerned that people on here think it’s worthwhile looking at spuds like Dunstan or Brander . That’s what I call NFI .

Baker is too little too play full time mid

it’s not his strength. He’s a modern day outside utility. Bit of back, midfield/wing and forward

indispensable to us in that role. But let’s throw him in as an inside mid and see him bashed

Please refrain from putting up any premiership statistics that don't include our last 3 premierships.... we need to remind anyone that comes across this, how awesome we have been lately.

Probably had alot todo with Teague's opinion now but as cheap injury insurance I can see the rationale.
I don’t want casboult but at one stage he was the best contested mark in the game. Man we could use some
Of that.

Do we look at Luke Dunstan on minimum chips??
Has the capacity to get his hand on the pill 25-30 times a game and has some genuine campaigner about him. Yes he’s not the most skilled player but can do a lot of grunt work and even shut down opposition players (dusty)

wouldn’t want to give up much though.

My Saints-tragic mate messaged me this morning with his favourite quote from a Saints board was that Dunstan could hit water if he fell out of a boat!

He cleaned us up though after the bye....

Heard Melbourne trying to offload him to us to get a pick for Cerra care of big footy Melbourne supporters

Could be bigfooty BS and one poster was anticipating a first. One would want more than that in terms of players/picks for a first

Dunno more than the bigfooty threads

With talk on Dunstan from Bigfooty and other speculation there might be something in it
