You dont believe any of our young mids in Dow , RCD , Ross , Martyn , Hugo , Cumberland after another preseason has the ability to take the next step upto the level ? Also with 5 picks and most likely 2-3 mids any will show something ?

Im a bit more optimistic and believe we will have min 2-3 that will surprise

ross maybe, if his poor form is due to him being played and trained as a hbf instead of an inside mid which is his position
dow i think has the best chance of being an actual mid
RCD i can only ever see as a forward flanker
martyn sure only had a couple games but looked completely lost. in this day the kids usually show something straight up.

It all depends on your view and expectations and circumstances
disagree with the RCD comments as in his limited inside mid moments played he showed really good signs

You need to factor in what their preparations were prior to being played. The last 2 years these players have gotten very little games and game time
with proper vfl games and continuity they will be alot better

From what I can tell after quickly looking into it, he is best as a midfielder and wants to play as midfielder but is shuffled around. Some weeks will play predominately midfield other weeks HF/Midfield.

I don't mind Harmes. On the surface he looks like our type of player. Has good speed and endurance and is a nice user of the ball. He's a solid B grade mid with the versatility to plug a hole elsewhere if needed.

I don’t know James personally but his old man moved in similar sporting circles to me and he always came across as a decent bloke. I’d be surprised if James was as you put it, "a sh*t bloke."
