need draft picks and require a rebuild " The staying up" method only works for the Cats

Tigers can't fight the AFL system of clubs go down for 5 to 6.

I love TT paid overs to get hopper in should have kept our first this year

I feel like we are so far off being premiership contenders again. All our upcoming draft picks will be to replace retiring players, cotch, reiwoldt, tarrant, Grimes this year and next at a minimum. It's going to be hard to bounce. I think the hopper trade really hurt, and we really needed to land some draft picks 3 years ago

It’ll turn quick. The biggest issue is the reliance on Lynch. He plays all year we are 3-4 win further along and right in the mix

I think you need to look at coll list and how that was put together and think again, they haven’t git superstars on every line , either have PA for that matter behind their silky midfield both well drilled outfits

Dusty on the highest salary of his contract, Lynch contract heavily backended, and Shai to get a big payrise mainly. Blair will have structured things to manage the situation but just thinking next year will be our one time the cap space is tight. Especially, as has been reported in the HS, that we have enough room to sign a Jack replacement like HH.

Plenty on here refuse to believe those contracts were back ended despite what was reported at the time of signing.

If you consider the games we lost by a kick that we could have easily won, I dont think the list is that far off at all.

Add in a fit Lynch and we win all those games and sit top 4 easily.

Sure we lack depth, but our best 22 is good enough.

disagree, believe we can win it next year but, n its a big but,Lynch must be fit otherwise like this year we'll struggle

retire: cotch,JR,tarrant
trade: nygoun,mcintosh,dow
delist: collina

*we gain a #9 pick in Gibcus,he shores up the backline, probably slots into Youngs spot,Young hasnt done anything wrong, hes quality
so waiting in the wings for a backline gig are Miller,Banks,Brown,Young,HRS

*2 talls up FWD are Lynch & Ryan, when Ryans not working we use Miller or Bauer
surround Lynch n Ryan with Bauer,Mansell JGTI,Short,Cumberland,Clarke,MRJ and whatever FWD we happen to draft or trade in,iim pretty sure they'll wrangle one in

*Dusty n Shai are now bonafide 60% minimum midfield, theyre our Rolls Royces, class, match winners, theyre elite skills are required around the ground
which leaves TT in the other mid starting position

Back up rotating mids incl Prestia,Hopper,Sonsie with ocassional appearences from Short,Ross n JGTI,but only ocassionally,so Dow unfortunately needs to be traded along with mcintosh so keeping Pickett.
Ross takes McIntoshs spot

as u can see only minor tweaks required i believe to have this group back on track and challenging,Lynch is the obvious key, with 1.1 mill invested
in him it goes w/o saying that he holds the key to our future premiership chances

obviously one can get creative and trade out another mid to guarantee a quality Tall FWD coming in,thats gonna take guts tho.Himmelburg unlike TT n Hopper is an elite kicker and GWS whom only let the merchants leave will want to definitely keep him, elite disposers are as rare as virgins

Great synopsis

We could always sign someone and backend again? It would be just 2024 that is an issue so the signed player could have a low 2024 and a high 2025. Georgiadis would be ideal, supporting lynch on a lower contract coming off his knee injury

Maybe if McIntosh wanted to go home we could get a draft pick for him and that let's us better use pickett and ross

Not really any big money signings there, some money to be saved from tarrant cotchin and reiwoldt, and maybe draft picks come in if a few decide to go home and we get a free agent pick? Maybe that could be the strategy to bring picks in? Tarrant has already been replaced, cotchin too by hopper, maybe a Coulthard might be ready for his spot mid forward, which means the reiwoldt replacement is the one we are crying out for. Bauer looked good but a bit small yesterday?

Bauer new contract coming. Tarrant will retire, where is Nyuon at as a player have not watched to many VFL games.

At the time of signing we expected to be paying Alex Rance about $750k per year for at least a couple more years too
