Hello Tiger fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

tugga you may like to sticky or merge this post, move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread.

Not quite as established as Paddy Dow but have heard rumblings a few weeks ago that Finn Macrae could be an option.
I'm not sure about Macrae. Definitely has upside and a lot of class, but given he's quite a slow player, would he fit in with Hopper and Taranto?

Don’t think dusty would need to be involved , if he was , I’d be looking at other younger players. I imagine chol would be given away for chips

Don't disagree, but i also dont watch much suns to know there list well enough to know who is sneaky good & whose contract is too heavy for them to carry.

An example of a player to target would have been like Peter Wright when he moved on. I was always keen on us getting in on that one but missed the boat - but if they have young talent they have overpaid and are happy to move on from to get Dusty = then take it, but get pick 4.

Club needs to never forget that the Suns have set their standard last year, they needed to GIVE a club a first round pick to just TAKE Bowes as a cap dump. Any young player we take on needs to be discussed in that way when added to the trade

yeah, but i reckon we are in no better position to take on his contract, unless we move on from Dusty

Damian Parrett says Richmond desperately needs a key defender, but they don’t grow on trees… the ‘quality’ of AFL journos is staggering :

Balta: 194cm
Young : 196cm
Gibcus: 196cm
Miller : 198cm
Bauer: 192cm
Biggy: 197cm

Then ageing but still on list:

Grimes: 194cm
Broad: 192cm

Then there’s Vlastuin, Brown and Tresize all 186-188cm.

Of course the more quality depth in any position you can have the better, but KPD is surely the last place our list management team will be focussing on for 2024 and beyond.

Am I missing something?

With Grimes really starting to show age and if we get our fitness staff right, would a cheap offer for Marchbank be a bad idea. Better than Miller, Bauer and Biggy when he is able to be on the park and is 26 years old.

His body lets him down but he looks like he could be coming out of the other side with it.

You’ve short changed Brown a few cm

If we're going to bring in a key defender, it would need to be someone who can play on the really tall key forwards. We don't really have a need for another third tall type.

Then you better grab a bucket as its going to get spoken about for years to come. I fear this one is going to be a doozy - its a real decent balls-up The club made that move thinking it was going to keep our window open, & we ended up 13th, our coach gave up and went to the Gold Coast, which the club was fairly under-prepared for. It's not just the picks lost that have hurt us, the clubs culture has taken a big hit & the options we have to replace Dimma are not at all inspiring. We once has Leppa, McRae, Kingsley, Blake Caracella, as assistants & now we can't even get them nor other options of equal quality to apply for our head coach role.

They set the bar of expectation way to high when they made that trade & the almost certainly overrated the list in its current state. But where the trade kills us is that Taranto & Hopper definitely do make us better. They now make us too good & expensive to fully commit to bottoming out, but they do not provide enough upside to replace the huge amount of talent we have lost. We need 1 or even 2 top 3 pick quality players & to be honest, we have only been mild with our results in the draft over the past 6 years.

So we got Taranto & Hopper to keep our Premiership window open, but all it did was keep us in the top half, of the bottom of the 8.

I would not do 12 & 19 for Taranto either now knowing what i know. He is great but i really just think the club needs to bottom out to get a bit more young elite prospects. I easily could have lived with the Taranto deal alone as he is a cpl years younger than Hopper & the club did have a sizeable hole of players in that 23-27 range - but they only make us better as a midtable team. I also think 12 & 19 is a bit rich - maybe 12 & 25 or 31, 19 would have been bloody handy right now. We had a lot of picks in that range, i dont think we had to give them the best one - we should have played that hand a lot harder. There was not much in regards to negotiations, it was the first "big deal" to drop - i am pretty sure it happened on Day 1.
Losing Lynch and Gibcus didn't help....having those 2 available for the year and the TT & Hopper trade may have looked a bit different

We weren't going from 13th or 3rd.I still doubt we make the 8. Gibcus is totally unproven & Lynch is injury prone.

The impact of trading picks is cushioned by free agency as well.... We got lynch for free let's not forget. Ebbs and flows.

Lynch going down would've cost us half a dozen games I reckon. Considering it forced us to play with practically no avenues to goal. Definitely would've cracked the 8, it was our biggest weakness by far.

Balta and Young are big enough to be that key back pillars. I mean Balta did great jobs on big Gorillas in the past and is still really young in the Talls career clock. Balta is entering the time that Rance started to show up

Would love Elijah Hollands
We can pray Dima wants some extra role players ie. Graham, McIntosh, Ralph-Smith
Not saying he is tradable, but someone like Jayden Short could be just what Dimma wants and needs at GC,
Let's face it, he has plenty of young top end talent up there - solid leadership types in their mid-late 20s is what he needs.

Interesting point, I'm sure there are players Dimma would want to poach, and I'm sure there are players who would want to reunite with him.

I'd prefer to keep Shorty 100% but he would have some value if GC came calling.

I disagree....full season from Lynch we make the 8 .....we had no forward line and was still not far from making it
100%

Which noone in the afl media ever seem to be interested in mentioning.
