Hello Tiger fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Premiership ruckman, good age bracket and looking super fit. Definitely pick under 35
Plus you gotta account for the ruck tax.

Rucks always seem to go for more. Every team needs them.

For example he’d easily hold down swans no1 spot and be of tremendous value to them.

Why? Soldo and Ralphsmith would both get 2nd rounders in a trade. Them plus our 2nd round pick would be around the equivalent of their 1st round in points value. Chuck in our 3rd round and they're ahead.
Soldo might cos he's a ruck, but Ralphsmith is probably getting us about what we got for Markov.

If I were GC I'd be looking to go the other way. See if they can package up pick 5 with their future first and something else for pick 1 or 2, and just go into points deficit next year.

That way they end up with something like picks 1 or 2, 3, 8 and 11 (based on Twomey's current form guide).

They don't want more top 10 types. They want to contend in the next few years. They'd be nuts not to grab their academy guns but they won't want more potential high salary attracting youngsters. They will be well and truly sick of winning drafts.

They probably need a gun key defender, a strong key forward and a damaging mid-forward after the loss of Rankine. And a better system of play. Balta, Bolton and possibly Martin would be the obvious players we have that would rapidly improve their chances of success. I am sure they will have their eyes on others around the competition who can fill these type of roles.

Not saying anything like this is even remotely on the cards but say Hollands and their first round pick for Balta on $700k with us paying $200k x 4 years or for Bolton on $1m with us paying $200-250k for 4 years is the sort of business I would be seeking if I were Gold Coast. Swapping some 2024 picks or lesser value players for 2023 points would also be on their agenda in that type of scenario.

No club says no to more top 10 picks.

Trading pick 5 for a few second rounders doesn't get them mature talent as you're suggesting anyway.

GWS has had a heap of top picks and academy kids too, but they've always been a lot smarter than GC with their's. The Suns seem to constantly give them away for **** all return.

It'd be there abouts.

No chance they choose to go that far into deficit next year. They'll already be making out like bandits this year with the 3 highly rated academy kids.

If they got pick 2 they'd happily wipe out their entire draft hand next year. Not sure what the rules around that are though.

Plenty of clubs have traded top 10 picks for players or other picks. Just last year Suns themselves happily gave up a top 10 pick to get salary cap relief.

Suns will be after players who can contribute to them winning big games. Likely mature players. I would be shocked if they traded to get a higher top 10 pick this season, it just runs counter to what they need to be using their assets to do.

Jack Silvagni is he an option? Seems like he is out of favour and if he his knee isn't as bad and can get it right in the preseason should we float a second-rounder and a future second?

We shouldn't float anything at all.... let alone 2 picks...

If his name wasn't Silvagni, and the blues didn't get him on the cheap due to F&S, he wouldn't have even made it to the AFL.

He’s had some ok games. But wouldn’t pay a 2nd rounder for him.

Probably wouldn’t have had as long a career as he has if he name wasn’t silvagni

Pick 5 or McDonald is crazy talk for a 28yr old.Sydney are not that desperate.
They might as well keep 5 and pick up Curtin.
Pick 22 might be more in the ball park for a 28yr old.
Just reporting what ive heard

Do I have this right? You are floating the possibility of us departing with not one, but no less than two second round draft picks for the Jack Silvagni that currently plays football for the Carlton Football Club?

If so,

He is worth a single third rounder to a club who needs a plodder without a position. To us, he is not worth a list spot. We are Richmond. Don't ever forget that. :)

Queenslanders returning back to Queensland is good for marketing, like when Weller returned. Hollands and GC first thanks!
Ryan: born in Pambula; school in Toowomba was part of Lions academy; played 10 games at Sherwood, Brisbane.

GC have our ruck/fwd Chol in the VFL. I dunno if Ryan is a need.

Might have to pull off a miracle with pick 28. Get the good van royen

Witts will be 31 to start 2024. Suns could plausibly see Ryan as a possible long term successor who can play forward usefully in the meantime. He could easily be a key piece of succession planning for them.

Would leave us without a young first ruck but we would likely have time to sort that out with Nankervis and Soldo plenty of mileage remaining on the clock.

He is a potentially quite valuable player Ryan, so his presence in a deal would give a decent boost to any bid we make for the Suns first round pick, without placing pressure on their delicately poised salary cap.

Kid has talent and is in quite a toxic club. Like you said we are Richmond The Best culture going around and having Lynch, Dustin Martin around would make him a lot better.

If he was in our list I reckon he would be playing with Lynch out
