Hello Tiger fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

tugga you may like to sticky or merge this post, move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread.

1st round pick for gresham.
Amazing how the afl just got an unlimited supply of these first rounders for all these duds.

Insulting to everyone who's ever had to watch him play football

Faaaaaaaark the CFL

It's nice having the luxury of Academy kids propping up every year. Besides Mills is out all year Parker's ancient. And no we don't have any midfield depth to go along with no KPF depth. That's what happens when your club has a fetish with flankers. Take away poaching Prestia, Hopper and Taranto and we haven't drafted a good mid since Dusty 13 years ago.
It's a real worry.

Bombres paying a small fortune for McKay and Gresham.
Two pretty average players.
For a below average team.

Bonus is that their fans will get their hopes up again, much like Tigers fans in the early 2000s when we'd think, this is our year

Why spend money for the sake of it though?
They're a very young side that narrowly missed finals this year, why not add a couple of best 22 players while still hitting the draft?

Bombers are one of only 2 clubs that don't have the salary cap increase included in all their players deals. They're loaded with free cap space.

Seems pretty clear that the salary cap for teams is too high if you look at the money being thrown at middle range players like Gresham, McKay, Doedee, Adams, Fisher.

Competition is cooked, time to abolish compensation picks. If you don't sign a player to a contract then bad luck, it's obvious contract size isn't an issue.

Reminds me of north paying stupid money for guys like Polec purely because they had money to burn

Ended well for them

Anyone else feeling a little flat that we are so inactive to try and improve our team, given the year we have had?
It also feels like its going to get worse, in that next year some of the lower teams are either naturally going to be better, or that they've made substantial changes to the list.

We're farked

Nope, panicking leads to knee jerk reactions which leads to poor decisions.

Not really our football department will look completely different and we don’t have a massive amount of draft capital to make any moves or salary cap space to go hard for free agents (this years crop aren’t inspiring anyway so not a big deal)

Yeah over year most of a side’s improvements come from within anyway
Big year for the likes of Clarke, Sonsie, Banks and Brown who are all entering the 3rd year and should be ripe to start showing what they are capable of

If they’ve been banking cap. Which they have, they either spend it lose it.

McKay can play, Gresham will be okay. Both improve them for next season. Importantly both player seem to prepare properly and cut corners on the field like most of the bombers.

substantial changes = improvement is a fallacy within itself

Essendon have won the trade period for just about a decade at this point but have made no real gain’s performance wise

Likewise for Carlton who have only started to improve on field in the past 2 years to the point of being competitive

I disagree, but we'll wait and see.
McKay I can understand as he fills a need.
Gresham is a head scratcher for mine. How many years did they give him?

Being inactive this year doesn't bother me, however what bothers me is next season. I don't think we have enough draft capital next season to try and make a deal for a free agent.
Is it Melbourne who now have three 1st rounders? That's insane.
