Hello Tiger fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

I'm not arguing with what you premised or the calculator.
What I'm saying is, for clubs that don't need to value picks on what the points value is, the points become irrelevant.

What is more valuable for Richmond? Pick 14 or freos future second and pick 41? Obviously pick 14.

What is more valuable for Gold Coast with the same scenario? The question becomes much more difficult to answer.

Yes, we wouldn't have liked to lose Soldo but if that is the reported deal we have to take it.
I would even let them keep pick 41, but demand the future 2nd is Freos

The points argument is so flawed it frustrates the shit out of me that people cant see it.

I don't agree. With Koschitzke and another year into Bauer and Ryan, the only way Soldo is playing is if there is an injury to Nank IMO. A risk you be willing to take for one season for the sake 2 x 2nd rounders.
We can always pick up a state league ruckman as well. If you look at premiership ruckmen the last decade or so (minus Gawn), you basically just have to be tall and compete. We could find a mature ager to come in cheap and be a back up if need be. For what we’re being offered for Soldo, we should be grabbing it and laughing before Port rescind the offer

And if Port finish Top 6 again next year? that F2 aint looking so crash hot
If what the lads in the podcast said is true, we are going to be very active next year. 2 second round picks will come in real handy if we’re chasing an uncontracted key forward who isn’t a FA. We could potentially trade up using our 2 second rounders and get ourselves 2 first rounders next year. Better yet if we get Port’s second rounder tied to Freo, it should be mid 20s you’d think and we could aim even higher with a pick swap. Even if we don’t trade up, having 2 second round picks would come in handy if we don’t have a first rounder for 2024 and 2025. It’s a win win for our future trade plans

I'd suggest the haggling might be over which future R2 pick Port are trading. We may want the Fremantle pick and Port may only want to offer their pick.

Blair doing the right thing holding firm and forcing Port to up their offer.

Soldo or Ryan is the question.
I’d have Soldo ahead but the media say he wants to leave.

Does he?
I would say so, we tried to trade him last season. Unsure about you if my employer didn’t want me would you want to stay.

Good to see our club playing hardball during trade period.
Previous years I reckon we’ve let players walk for unders. Ok we were King of the jungle during that time, but it slowly eroded our list.

Other than Higgins we didn’t generally have much of a leg to stand on. This time we’ve got the whip hand.

Personally I’m incredibly unenthused with Kosi as our only target but I understand why that’s the case. I’d love us to walk away but last year I was critical that we didn’t get some forward depth other Bradkte . We might have to pay up or go into the season without a key forward again.

I don’t watch a lot of state league footy. Who are the state league ruckman that can out produce Soldo?

A lot of people don't understand is the draft pick value calculator is only good for making f/s or academy bids and nothing else.

For example pick 10 is 1395 points. Now let's say that the A+ quality players go to up to pick 12 in 2023 draft. You know that you are getting a high quality player at pick 10 and therefore the pick is valued highly.

Then let's say that the A+ talent in the 2024 draft drops of at pick 8. Pick 10 isn't as valuable because you will be getting a B+ talent.

Pick 10 is not the same value from one year to the next, however the draft calculator will always have pick 10 as the same value regardless.
