Hello Tiger fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

tugga you may like to sticky or merge this post, move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread.

Sorry to see Soldo go but he wants a first ruck gig and good contract was no doubt thrown at him.

But our ruck stocks are okay still. Nank is a good ruckman. Ryan should really strap up next season a good way bigger and stronger than last. He is at that age where the strength starts to build. He has good aggression and good ruck craft. Just no strength, that will get better the older he gets.

Backup we have Miller and Kosi. According to the Hawks board he is not a bad ruck. Miller has improved a lot in that regard as well so will be better again with another preseason learning the caper again.

We will have to draft a good ruckman to the VFL. There are a few around, Ryan certainly wasn't having it all his own way in the VFL last season.

I'm disappointed to lose Soldo. When Nank inevitably gets injured or suspended, it leaves us bare in the ruck with only Ryan to come in.
All of Nank’s injuries have been unlucky, he’s not as injury prone as people make out.

He had a groin slipping on the horrible WA surface, he had a PCL knocking kneecaps with Riley OBrien, and he had syndesmosis to his ankle twice.

Just very unlucky.

Duursma went to Essendon, because Essendon convinced him to go to Essendon.

Ollie Lord was targeted by Geelong no less than 6 days ago. Soldo requested a trade 24 hours ago. The club said "you dont have the assets" then accepted the assets. Cuck much?

Should not the club at least ******* try to get something better ?

It definitely hurts us in the immediate term. But if that leads to a lower finish in 2024 and a higher rd 1 pick to trade plus higher expected value on the 2025 rd 1 pick, allowing us to get into the market for a gun key forward, and with Ryan and the best of our 2 x basketball giants ready to start cutting mustard from 2025, some of these other clubs better look the **** out. :)

My god - you guys are easily impressed. How could anyone be stoked to get a future 4th round pick? With priority & compo picks to be added its likely something in the 80's. Most teams have stopped picking at that point anyway - a Future 4th is only going to be useful for us if we expect to be cutting 6 or more players next year

2022 - 4th was last round with only 6 picks & 59 kids selected
2021 - 4th was last round with only 13 picks 65 kids selected,
2020 - 4th was last round with only 8 picks, 59 kids selected

a Port future 4th is no better than our 5th round pick, as they likely go top 4 again
Butler was a 4th rounder. Broad was a 5th rounder.

It's also draft capital which can be used to trade or improve picks.

so we get a probably pick in the 20s next year along with 41 and a future 4th for a guy who plays back up ruck, has 1 year left on contact and likely to walk for nothing next year.

I guess the sky really is falling :drunk:

FMD the deal we got is at the top end of the range of what we could have hoped for. It’s a great deal, we’re known as a club that wants to get them done. Great for us good enough for them.

Details will see Port Adelaide end up with Soldo and pick 50 in exchange for 41 and 49 this year, Fremantle’s future second round pick and Port’s future fourth round pick. @aflcomau

Lord was never available.

The fact is Soldo will play some good games for Port, that's a given. It will be enough for the Pro-keeping Soldo camp debate alive however, he is surplus to our needs. He is the same type of ruckman as Nankervis only a couple of years younger.

Trading Soldo for future picks and an upgrade will not only ensure that we have options to offer Hawthorn a late pick for Kozi but it also improves our draft hand for next year. We currently lack a second tall option forward which we do need to plug, we had limited picks to trade that gave us flexibility.

I like the trade, i like it a lot, we would be getting nothing for him next season, he wasn't staying because the club won't play him if Nankervis is fit to play.

Best thing i can do for the club is put a stack of cash on Freo making finals. Guarantees they wont.
Watch the AFL suck them off to a flag. Thought it was going to be Carlton next year but Freo now makes more sense...

As it looks right now we may have just turned Soldo & 50 into:
Picks 41 & 49
Fremantles 2024 R2 pick (should be in the 25-35 range)
&
Koschitzke (Should we trade Ports 2024 R4 or our 2024 R3 or R4)

If you think the club hasn't done well from a poor starting position then your expectations are too high
