Hello Tiger fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

I’m not sure what the latest is with Colina’s back injury. But he can’t be a viable option for us at this stage. He’s hardly played in the VFL.

Nank, Ryan (who I do rate), Hays-Brown. Pretty thin.

Miller is a joke as a ruck. Never seen a ruck put it down the oppos throat from a centre bounce like this bloke.
Have you seen Nank ruck

The deal is:

We get: #41, #49, F2 (Freo), F4 (Port)
Port get: Soldo, #50

Loved reading the outrage at the poor deal we got for Soldo, before details had been confirmed, only to find out that we've turned Soldo & 50 into 2024 Freo R2 and Port R4, and 41 & 49 this year.

Had we held him to his contract and he walked as a free agent next year we'd have likely received a single end of R2 pick as compensation.

This is why you back Blair to do his job at trade period he invariably gets good returns on deals where we hold the leverage.
Not sure what the outrage is about. I said earlier in the thread that I thought a fair deal would be Soldo for Ports 41 and Ports future 2nd ( before thus deal was even announced). The fact we have Freo's future makes the deal even better. Freo is likely to finish between 8th~14th and Poet to finish between 1st~6th imo.

I like Soldo, but the truth is Nank is our first Ruck and Soldo is second in line only when Nank is injured. Soldo is a good depth player and wants to have a opportunity for the number 1 ruck spot at another club. He is also a free agent at the end of next year and probably would leave anyway for oppotunity unless he could take the ruck spot from Nank.

I think think this deal is a win-win for Port and us.

All reports are they are after a future pick though

Ahh ok, yeah forgot about that. Not sure about giving away future picks, we need to start banking as many future picks as possible to either draft or trade in talent before Tassie comes into the comp and the draft is really compromised.

Its its freos second round pick weve made out like absolute bandits.

Freo finished 14th this year, and lost their leading goal kicker over the last 2 years to collingwood and liam henry to st kilda.

they could easily finish 14th again, or even drop down to 15th to 16th given gold coast and hawthorn are expected to improve

thats a pick in the early 20s, mid 20s with compo picks

To me its less about the return, but more about how much we barely tried to push them harder for more, or use it as leverage to try and demand Ollie Lord from them

Ports 2nd rounder next year could be in the 40's. Pick 41 & 43 for example doesn't sound like a deal i would have accepted for a premiership, 27 year old ruckman who the club had vowed was required and Port don't have the assets for a week ago.

Well, turns out Port did have the assets all along - 2 picks in the 40's, lmao - we look like idiots for saying that now.

I would have taken Duursma or Lord over the future 2nd rounder for sure.
Wow

How on earth do you know where this deal started? There is zero chance in this world Port started at #41 and a F2 for Soldo… would not have even been close. Why do you think we remained adamant he was staying? Because Port probably stared at #41 only… we said he was staying and waited. They beefed it up to #41 and a F3… we said he was staying and waited. They then beefed it up to #41 and a F2 …. which we eventually did the right thing by Soldo and the club and accepted.

Duursma and Lord were not on the table for us. Duursma’s contracted so for him it’s remain at Port or the Bombers. Lord was going nowhere and wasn’t up for grabs.

Soldo played 1 x game before Round 17 for us. If anyone had said there’s #41 and a F2 on offer in the off-season you’d have been doing cartwheels given we are transitioning to a younger list.

Yes he’s a Premiership ruckman. He has also played 57 games since making his debut in 2017 and has gotten over 14 disposals once in his 57-game career… once. and over 11-disposals just 5 times.

It’s a great deal and will be very valuable in the 2024 off-season when Yze will know what moves need to be made for our list.

Oh yeah it's going to be absolutely ****ed having to rely on a 3-time premiership ruckman in his prime :straining:

Not sure about that. They're dead keen. We will probably give them something back to help them get their other deals done.

There's a ruck merry go round every year. Our two rucks of the last decade cost us 2 x 3rd rounders. You don't need a star ruckman, you just need a competitor. Plus Ryan will be primed to take over Nank dull time in 2-3 years. We're setup nicely.
Mate 2022 is the only year Nankervis has played 23 games in the last five seasons , he has missed 14 ,13 , 9 and 8 games since 2018, nah we can rely on him, Prestia the part time footballer has missed less

Would've traded Nank over Soldo. He's older and almost broken down. Almost a guarantee we lose in the middle and the opposition ruck is BOG when matched up with Nank.

This list is a mile off another premiership so I guess it doesn't matter

Duursma went to Essendon, because Essendon convinced him to go to Essendon.

Ollie Lord was targeted by Geelong no less than 6 days ago. Soldo requested a trade 24 hours ago. The club said "you dont have the assets" then accepted the assets. Cuck much?

Should not the club at least ******* try to get something better ?

Show me where the club said “you don’t have the assets”?

Moving on from a 31 year old ruckman for 2 picks in the 40's makes sense - not sure if trading our 27 year old one was though

The prime age for your list to compete is having blokes in the 25-29 year old range. They are considered " peak selling ages" as they bring immediate, low risk results.

With Soldo out we are now down to just Baker, Bolton, Graham, Hopper, Taranto & Dan Rioli as blokes who will be in that age bracket by Round 1 2024. None of which are bigger bodied players. We are now relying on a pretty battered Lynch & Nank to provide all the big bodied contested & enforcer work, which i think was the main reason the club saw Soldo as so essential. 2 picks in the 40's isn't much of a needle mover.

Add to that the pretty embarrassing "Port don't have the assets for a Soldo deal" comments a week ago ....come on guys, is this the "Tiger of Ol" you remember?

Do you even know who is on our list?

Balta is about the most powerful player in the competition and you’ve left him out as a big bodied player because he’s 24yo and not 25yo?

Tyler Young is 25yo and 196cm. Ryan is 23yo and 206cm. Ben Miller is 24yo and 198cm. Not saying they are ‘enforcers’, but they are developing as big bodied players and that is the least of our worries. Soldo was hardly a ‘pack crashing, enforcing ruckman.

My god - you guys are easily impressed. How could anyone be stoked to get a future 4th round pick? With priority & compo picks to be added its likely something in the 80's. Most teams have stopped picking at that point anyway - a Future 4th is only going to be useful for us if we expect to be cutting 6 or more players next year

2022 - 4th was last round with only 6 picks & 59 kids selected
2021 - 4th was last round with only 13 picks 65 kids selected,
2020 - 4th was last round with only 8 picks, 59 kids selected

a Port future 4th is no better than our 5th round pick, as they likely go top 4 again

Hence why we need to start looking at getting as much draft capital as we can, while we can.

We wouldn't have got that for Nank.

All of Nank’s injuries have been unlucky, he’s not as injury prone as people make out.

He had a groin slipping on the horrible WA surface, he had a PCL knocking kneecaps with Riley OBrien, and he had syndesmosis to his ankle twice.

Just very unlucky.
As I stated since 2018 has missed 46 out of a possible 125 games that’s just under 40%, nah he has not missed many through injury

Hopefully we can keep all of our draft picks for next year so we can trade up the draft with a team that needs more points. As it stand we have 1 x first round, 2 x second round, 1 x third round and 2 x fourth round. Surely we can just take Koschitzke in the PSD, we do have pick 6 after all

1. West Coast: Won't select him
2. North Melbourne: A possibility but unlikely, they already have CCJ and Combden and have recruited two KPD already in Pink and Nyuon
3. Hawthorn: Massimo D'ambrosio
4. Gold Coast: Won't select him
5. Fremantle: Won't select him
6. Richmond: Jacob Koschitzke
